Nebraska Sailors

I am the daughter of Maurice Adelbert Sailors born the 4th child of Otis B. Sailors and Lottie Mae Dunn in Barada, Nebraska. Heard of that place? We must be related! Seems Grandpa Otis was the black sheep...anyone know about him or his untimely demise??? I have a theory..maybe you can prove it as true! Also interested in a place I found on the map called Sailors Creek Battlefield near Farmville, VA. Anyone know about that? Is it related to us? I would also love to find proof of John Sailors as a Revolutionary War veteran. He is supposed to be buried at Little Flat Rock, Indiana...must be in someone's corn field as no one knows of his grave...
Love to meet any Sailors from my family line..William Henry Harrison Sailors son of George Washington Sailors son of Thomas Sailors, son of John Sailors, son of Abraham or Abram Sahler...know any more? E-mail me!

John Sailors

I am looking for information to prove that John Sailors fought in the American Revolution.
I have that he was born in Maryland in 1756 - died in Rush County Indiana in 1833 and married Fanny Osborn (1759-1784). My line goes through his son Jacob Sailors (1777-1836) and Nancy Lacy (1780-1830). If anyone has and information, I would appreicate it greatly.
Thanks so much!
Sarah

1790-1850 South Carolina census--Sailors/Saylors

Below are census records for Sailors/Saylors families in South Carolina 1790-1850. NOTES by me are not part of the actual census record and are subject to error. Additions and corrections are welcome!
Several Sailors/Saylors families moved to Georgia; see my separate posting (#261) for Georgia census records.

1850 Anderson Co SC
p.
Sailors, Abram 52 SC
, Mary 49 NC
, Malilda/Matilda? 24 SC
, John B A 23 SC
, Ruth A 19 SC
, Mary A J 18 SC
, Rachael S 16 SC
, Ama (f) 14 SC
, Sarah E C 12 SC
, Abram D 10 SC
, Cintha Ann 7 SC
, Margaret P 4 SC
NOTE: Abraham Sailors Jr (b.abt.1798SC-d.1870-1880Madison Co GA), very probably a son of Abraham Sailors SR & Elizabeth Love. See 1860-1880 Madison Co GA census.

p.
Sailors, John 55 SC
, Cintha 45 SC
, William P 23 SC
, Sarah Anne 19 SC
, Martha Jane 14 SC
, Isaac 13 SC
, Susan C 10 SC
NOTE: very probably a son of Abraham Sailors SR & Elizabeth Love; remained in Anderson Co SC

p.
Sailors, John N? 26 SC
, Elizabeth 34 SC
NOTE: son of John Sailors (b.1795) & Cintha (b.1807); he married 1846 Anderson Co SC to Elizabeth May

p.
Sailors, John B 30 SC
, Sarah 29 SC
, Nancy Ann 9 SC
, Sarah Jane 6 SC
, Mary E 4 SC
, William 2 SC
, James C 3/12
NOTE: son of Leonard Sailors (1786-1856) & Sarah Johnson (1794-1881)

p.253
Sailors, Leonard 64 NC
, Sarah 56 SC
, Sarah Jane 19 SC
, Washington 18 SC
, William J 15 SC
NOTE: very probably a son of Abraham Sailors SR & Elizabeth Love.
I have seen numerous sources that say he was a son of Leonard Sailors who died in1811 Pendleton Co SC. I disagree. I think that Leonard Sailors (1778-living 1850 White Co TN) who married Amy Gant was the son of “Old” Leonard Sailors (d.1811). The 1810 SC census shows that there WERE three Leonard Sailors (see below).

1850 Lexington Co SC
Sailor, Vastine (m) 45 SC
, Ellen 22 SC
, Polly 2 SC
, William M 6/12 SC
******************************************************************************************************************************************************

1840 Anderson Co SC

p.161
Saylor, Nimrod 1m5-10 1m20-30 2f<5 1f5-10 1f30-40
NOTE: son of Leonard Sailors (1786-1856) & Sarah Johnson.

Hi, Does anyone know the connection of Levi Sailors to the John Sailors (Fanny/Grubbs) family? This is not the same Levi as the Georgia branch. In the 1807 Indiana Territory census, it lists a Levi Sailors along with Benjamin, Conrad, Jacob, and John Sailors. Since Benjamin, Conrad and Jacob were all directly related to John, I'm very curious as to how Levi fits in. So far, I've never heard of him as a child of any of these-but that doesn't mean he isn't a brother or child. Any information anyone has would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks!!

Richard Thomas Sailors was son of couple above.
His wife was Martha Jane Lines daughter of
Benjamin F.Lines.What was her mother Amanda's
maiden name?Had @least 6children 1862-1873.
Wonder who were parents of Melissa Alice Sailors
b1863in Barada NE?She married Robert D.Ankrom 1883
Falls Cty NE.James C.Moule has done several family
lines,Ten Eyck on his father and Ankrom on his
mother's side.My ggrandfather Thomas D.Ten Eyck
married Mary Jane Lines Sailors late 1870s.
She was John Thomas Sailors' widow(his second
wife, first was her sister Charlotte Caroline
Lines).Am trying so hard to understand which
Lines and which Sailors are related to me.
I'm told John Sailor had a son from his first
marriage to Fanny Osborn,named Benjamin.Benj
Sailors'daughter Frances married her cousin
Reuben Lines. Catherine Sailors was daughter
of John Sailor and second wife Miss Grubbs who
then wed John Lines.Catherine and John were
Reuben Lines'parents.John Lines'father was Henry
Lines. Who was Henry Lines' wife? Who were Benj-
amin F.Lines'parents? Was there a reason Richard
and John Sailors shared middle name Thomas?
Does anybody know where and when William D.
Sailors married Mary Ann Moore, when+where she
was born? You've all been kind and patient
with me.Keep it up,will you please?

Hello, as part of an english assignment (Rhet Comp) we were to post an online version of our obituary as part of a class project. It was to be removed, but our professor obviously didn't do so. I chose this site out of other various sites, not knowing that my actual FAMILY would find this. This was part of a university experiment and I apologize for any feelings that were hurt because of this. Please email me to keep in further contact. Much love, Toni Lynn Sailors, 19.
Augusta Rose Salors/Sailers/Sailors???

My mothers maiden name was Sailers...I'll have to call her again and ask exactly how it was spelled. Her MOTHER was AMALIA NOMER. She never married and raised my mother until she died of stomache cancer when my mother (now 73) was 9 nine years old in Patchogue, New York. If you know any info of Amalia Nomer or the man who gave my mother the last name of Salers.....please let me know. We know little if any at all of our ancestry on my mothers side. She does have a cousin in France. Amalia Nomer was french and swiss. Any reply would be greatly appreciated.
