Hello,

Sorry. My grandfather Thomas was born in Telkibanya, Hungary and my grandmother Barbara was born in Felso-Mera, Hungary. They lived in Vizsoly, Hungary where my mom was born. I haven't seen any place as "Sajgo" being a town in Hungary.

Hi to both of you - am not related to your family, however. am curious if you know if the village they came from in Hungary was called Sajgo? I have found this in an old family letter as being the place my husband's grandmother lived in Hungary before immigrating to Western PA and since I know villages are often named after the families that were there, thought this could be a possibility. Thanks for any information you may have
Hello. My name is Sharri Bodnar. Since my last message posted, I have gotten some updates. My grandparents were Thomas & Barbara Sajgo. That info is still the same. But I cann't find any records saying that in Hungary, their last name was spelled Szago. As far as I know, it still stayed as Sajgo. My grandfather's brother was Sandor (Alexander) Sajgo. He lived in Duquesne, Pennsylvania. Recently, I found out that Alexander changed the spelling of his last name from Sajgo to Shigo. He married Anna Sztraka and they had 12 children, Alex, Thomas, James, Steve, William, Albert, Anna, Theresa, Helen, Margaret, Emma and Irene. Does anyone have any other info on my great Uncle & Aunt Alexander & Anna Shigo and their families? I would love to hear from you. E-mail me at the address below.

Thanks,

Sharri Bodnar
slbodnar@hotmail.com

Thomas & Barbara Sajgo

Hello. My name is Sharri Bodnar. I am looking for anyone who can give me information on The Sajgo family. My grandparents are Thomas & Barbara Sajgo. They both were born in Hungary. Thomas was born in 1883 and Barbara was born in 1888. Barbara died in Trenton, NJ in 1974. I don't know when Thomas died. I believe he died in NY. Their last name in Hungary was Szago. When they came to the US, it got changed to Sajgo. They had 2 daughters that were born in Hungary. Both were named Helen. One died in Hungary and the other came over when she was 2. This Helen is my mom. My grandparents had a son born in Cararet, NJ named Thomas Shago. They than moved to Buffalo, NY and had a daughter named Irene Sajo, and 2 other sons named William Shargo and Ernest Sajgo. My mom, changed her name to Helen Sago. I don't know why but all my aunts and uncles changed the spelling of their last name. I believe that Thomas had a brother named Alexander Szago.(Sandor in Hungarian). Alexander married Snadona (Hungarian name). Their children, that I know of, are Ferezia (Hungarian name), Alexander, and Anna. Does anyone know of these people? I especially would like to know about Thomas Sajgo and his brother Alexander. I do know my grandmother but I never meet my grandfather. Please e-mail me at:
slbodnar@hotmail.com

Thanks,
Sharri
