Maria Reyes Salazar and Antonio Cordova

Maria Reyes Salazar married Antonio Cordova. I would guess birthdates for them at 1840 - 1853. They had a daughter named Rita Salazar born 1869. Rita was married to Jesus Salazar at age 16. I would like to find names of parents for Maria Reyes or for Antonio. The family eventually lived in Cordovas, NM. That is all I have unfortunately. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. RMAMARTINEZ@YAHOO.COM

Gonzalo de Salazar - 1500's

I've been able to trace one of my lines back to Gonzalo de Salazar. He came to New Spain from Grenada in 1524, and was the business manager for the treasury. His wife was Catalina de la Cadena.

I've also seen that one of Moteczuma's granddaughters, Maria Cano (her mother was M's daughter Isabel Moteczuma), married a Gonzalo de Salazar. I've been unable to find any sources which confirm or disprove that this is the same Gonzalo de Salazar.

I would love to know if he is the same person. Is there anyone out there who can help me?

Thanks in advance!

Karen

Hello! I am trying to find out any info on a Pauline/ Paulina Salazar, who may have been pregnant from a Frank Moreno who deceased before Paulina gave birth! Paulina married Santiago (Jimmy Munoz). They would have lived in the PHX area. She was my grandmother's mom. My grandma was told her mother passed away right after giving birth but we cannot find any records of it!
She would have given birth to a baby girl named Esther Munoz on August 16,1934 & would have been around 25yrs of age, when given birth. Paulina was born in ALD, MX.
My grandma is getting old & has no info on her mother or a
burial site. It would be nice to locate her or any info before my grandma passes. My grandma met her dad on his death bed & knew nothing about him or her mom.
This is a gift I am trying to give my grandma!
Anyone with ANY info, would be appreciated!!!
3 Salazar -- San Juan Cemeterio, Geronimo, Texas

Today I was "visiting" my great-great-grandmother's grave in Geronimo, Texas, and I tried to get all the legible headstones written down. I found the following:

Silvera B. Salazar -- 1927 - 1999
Paula E. Salazar -- 03-05-1893 to 08-07-1984
Jose Patricio Salazar -- 03-17-1889 to 06-09-1962
(Paula and Jose have a double tombstone)

Geronimo is a tiny town, close to San Marcos to the north and Seguin to the south. It is in Guadalupe County.

That's all the info I have on Salazar… But if you have questions about the cemetery location, let me know.

Hello, my uncle has been trying to trace our family tree. However he has come to a dead end when it comes to my great grandmothers birth parents. My great-grandmother was born in 1901and was baptized Juanita Salazar by her adoptive parents who also adopted two other children (I believe). It was believed that my grandmother was part indian. In fact when my great grandmother was about ten years old her birth mother actually tried to get her back. My great grandmother married Francisco Amavisca. If anyone has any information please contact me. If anyone knew the salazar family who adopted my great grandmother or of any information of her birth mother I would greatly appreciate it. Please contact me mrijry3293@yahoo.com

Pilar Salazar

I'm trying to find information on my grandmother whos full maiden name was "Maria Del Pilar Salazar", she was born September 27, 1925 and died in September 7, 2001 in Fort Worth, Tx. She had two children with a George Hernandez (my grandpa whom i've never met) who was said to be from Mexico, as I suspect she was, and later she remarried a Reuben Abalos and obtained the surname Abalos through this.

From what I've heard, her Father's name was Refugio Salazar.

I'd appreciate any information about my grandmother, she died before I could get the chance to put together a family tree and now everything is a nearly a mystery.

I know that they (Pilar and Hernandez) resided in both Texas and Arizona, and finally she finally settled in Texas after remarrying.

Furthermore I'd appreciate any information about George, who according to my father also spelt his name "Jorge". However since I know very little about him I cannot expect too much.

According to my father, both my grandfather and his father mentioned places in Mexico such as San Luis Potosi, Guanajuato, and Queretaro. And spoke a glutteral language distinct from Spanish and English. That is about all I know of him.

I'd appreciate any information on either of these people.

Thanks.

Salazar name origin

There has been a few attempts to explore and identify the origi Augustusn of the Spanish last name of Salazar. I have seen other elucidations but ponder on this one. The name Salazar, divide it by Sala which in Latin is the name Sulla, a Roman general and dictator. Sala exists in the Italian genealogy of names. Now take "zar" which in the Latin is a form of Caesar, another Roman general and dictator. The proof that substantiates this claim is the Spanish name of Zaragoza which means Caesar Augustus. A town in Spain exists with this name which was settled by Roman soldiers in the last century of B.C. Only a subjective speculation that makes me proud to wear this last name. Manuel R. Salazar

Children of Juan Salazar and Maria De Jesus Marroquin

Hello Salazar cousins! I'm hoping somone out there will recognize these names. My father's family came from NuevoLeon, Mexico. They started in Villa De Santiago, then moved to Allende, then to Gen. Teran, to the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. My Great-Great Granfather's name was Juan Salazar. His wife was Maria De Jesus Marroquin. Her are the names of their children: Estevan, Pedro (my Great-Grandfather), Lucia, Sixto, Melquiades, Petra, Pablo ( I think), Lupita, and Barbara. After Maria de Jesus passed on, Juan married Camila Silva. They had the following children: Antonio, Herminia, and another daughter I don't have her name. I hope to hear from any relatives. Saludos, Naomi

I would like to find out about his parents, etc. We were unable to find a birth record in the LDS records.
If your Salazar ancestors have origins in Nuevo Leon, perhaps we can share info.

My dad, Jose Maria Salazar, came from a family of 19 uncles and aunts from Dolores, Chihuahua, Mexico back in the 1800s I presume. One of his uncles was named Andres. Other names of his siblings that I can recall our Herlinda, Daniel, Veronica, Jose Maria, Carlos, and of course Andres - can't remember the others.

I am looking for any Salazar's that lived in or around FRANKLIN TEXAS around the time my mother was born. She was born Nov.6 1941 or 1942 (My dad said her birth certificate says 1941, but she says different). All she knows is that her mother's name was ANNIE SALAZAR, her dad was HERNANDEZ. Both parents died while she was young and she was adopted by a family in CONROE TEXAS. She claims to have a twin sister that died at birth and only recalls working in some fields under her uncle's care.

Salazars in Colorado HELP!

I am looking for the ancestors of Antonio de Jesus Salazar born in 1850. Married to Delores Romero. I have a list of papers my Grandfather gave me from (I am quoting):
"R. Soc.Hisp.-AM. De Genealogia Y Heraldica Delegacion Mejicana". It is entitled "Le Noble Casa de Salazar". This has names listed to 1520. There are also several coat of arms. There are some discrepencies between this list and the ancestor listings I have read on this forum. I am sooo confused. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.
