My name is Dr. Brian Johnson and I am an Associate Professor of English at Claflin University. My mother's grandmother is from Orangeburg, SC (my great-grandmother). She was born Minnie Salley (July 2, 1900) and had one sister. She moved and remarried several times finally settling in Durham North Carolina where she died Minnie Watkins. This is the only information that my mother has about our connection to the Salleys in Orangeburg.
