Reuben SALMON in CT. d. abt 1816; English roots?

Surnames: Salmon, Foote, Bennett
Prior to her death in 2002 my wife and I did extensive research on her SALMON family in CT, NY, MA. She gained membership in the DAR based on the service of her GG Grandfather, Asahel SALMON, second son of Reuben and his first wife, Dorothy FOOTE. Reuben's second wife was Prudence BENNETT. The families of both wives are extensively documented on Ancestry.com. Now I would like to take the SALMON family further back, probably to England or Ireland. Can anyone help?
