Emanuel or Ethel Saults

I have a copy of a family death certificate for my grandfather. His mother's name was Ethel Helen Saults. Daughter of Emanuel Saults and Sarah Cecilia Hill. Ethel was born 19 Apr 1894 in Sidell, Illinois. She married Ray H. Payne at some point. They had two children. Eugene Lavasa Payne and Betty Gene Payne (although Pierce was on her birth certificate). Ethel then married at some point James E. Krug. They had no children. She died 24 Aug. 1963 in Amarillo,Potter, Texas. She is buried in Pampa, Gray, Texas. I know next to nothing other than a few stories. She was a registered nurse. Eugene(my grandfather) was born in Oakwood, Illinois 2 Aug 1921. Betty in 28 but not sure if she was born in Ill or Indiana. Both are buried in Pampa, Texas. Does anyone have any information on this family?

Looking for any and all information on the Surname Salts, or as it was originally spelled, Saltz..Grandparents were born in Beatrice, Nebraska, in the 1910-1920 range..Both attended school in Beatrice and were later married and had 2 children in Gage County as well.
Later years saw the family move to washington state where most of the immediate relatives followed..We are looking for information on any and all Salts, or Saltz..Thanks for your help..Kevin

In the 1860 US Census of Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois, there is a Nick Sample (b. 1844 in Ohio) living with a Eve Salts (b. 1814 in KY). I don't know if this helps, but I'd like to know the connection. They lived nearby my ancestor, Stewart Thompson who married Susanna Salts. Susanna's sister, Elizabeth, also married a John Dugan and was living next door. I believe the Thompsons, Salts, and Dugans knew each other in Ohio, married, and moved together to Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois together, probably around 1850-1853. But, I'm looking for more to turn this from a theory to fact.

My name is tom boblett and I'm also a descendant of Eli Vincent Boblett. Eli had two sons as far as I can tell. Dellbert H, who was my great grandfather and George who I haven't been able to tell if his middle initial is N. or W. depending on what year census report I look at. By the way, after marrying Stewart Thompson in Ohio in 1837, Susan moved from Ohio to Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois between 1850 and 1853. Here, she had children Jonothan (1856) and Emma (1862).

The Parents of Susanna Salts

I am having problems researching the parents of Susanna Salts, b. 1815 in Ohio. Supposed parents are William Salts (b. 1803 in Virginia) and Sarah UNKNOWN (b. 1793 in Virginia). She wed in 1837 in Ohio to husband, (I'm sure), Stewart or Steward Thompson (b. 1805 in Ohio).

Problems:
You can see William probably was too young to father Susanna. Also, some family trees list Sarah as being William's sister. Possible, I suppose.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edward Salts and Ellen Hill issued 9/26/1865
Richard Craig, Judge - Edward over 21 , Ellen over 18, signed by mark (X) Edward Salts. Married 9/30 1865 by Jonathon Brine, Minister of the gospel, ECC.
I find no spelling of Saults - are you sure of spelling.

I find among the 10 Children of Thomas Salts b. 1805 d 1895
child #8 - Edward S Salts b. ... 1841 (which I believe means approximately) m. Ellen Hill
That is all that I have on Edward and Ellen. It appears that Edward was either the daughter of Rebecca Wren - or Catherine Wren - Apparently Rebecca died and he married Catherine - (sisters?). Catherine is buried in the old McArthur Cemetery, McArthur, Ohio, b. Feb 5, 1805, D. April 6 1853. Were your Salts in Vinton County, OH? e-mail me direct -

in the Center,Lyon Ks 1900 census she was living
with her daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Jacob
Maurer along with their two girls Sophia and Emma
Dorthra came to this cnty abt 1872 along with her
seven children she was b. abt 1824.
I know of some of her children other than Barbara.

Does anyone have a documented record of a Saults spelling being used before 1786? Or a Saltz spelling used before 1900? Does anyone have a records of a Salls spelling?

Don't know if I can help you much. I don't have any information on the children of Milan P. Salts and Janet Mitchell, which would be the line your daughter in law would be from. My Eliajh Salts and her Milan were brothers, their parents being William F. Salts and Hannah Reliance Tichenor Salts. Believe Benjamin Salts dob: 1761 may be their father, Benjamin was a private in the Revolutionay War between 1775-1783. Not sure when the Salts originally came to US or from where.

Hi my name is Chad Boblett born in Kentucky I want to know where did the last name Boblett is traced back to, if Boblett can be spelled any other way then this way and how the name started. The best I can tell you about my background is that my mother is Martha Grubs now Martha Boblett and my father is Jerry Boblett. As far as I can go back with my father, the late Jerry Boblett is his mother was the late Flossy bird and father was the late Hark Boblett. With many kids all the way down. So do you know me and do you have any info for me on these people from Kentucky. I know there are Bobletts all over the states but were did they come from?

Your Salts/Saltz line is also the family we are researching. Do you know what country the family came from and who was the first family member to arrive here? My daughter-in-law is the g-grandaughter of Ira saltz the son of Knowlton who was the son of Milan , the son of William. Ira moved to Washington. He died in 1968. He had sons Lloyd and Arthur....Lloyd passed away but I am trying to find Arthur....Do you happen to know him?...Any help would be appreciated.....and I will help you in any way I can...Donna
