God dagen! My gr-grandfather was Herman Frederick Kristian Salvesen Farestad and his father was Ouen Kristian Salvesen; I think that Ouen was a farmer and fisherman (?) but I am not sure. Herman was first a sailor and then a carpenter.

I know i've not got the surname salvesen but I am directly related to them and know a lot about them. Could you tell me which buisness your salvesen branch comes from e.g. timber, whaling. And if you are directly related to Carl-Emil Salvesen

Yours
Fergus

I don't know if you are still out there or not, but I am helping a friend's husband search for his family. He was adopted at a very young age and is looking for his birth mother who is/was a Salveson (Salvesen). What little information we have was that he was born in New York. Do you have any further information on this Kristine you are looking for such as approximate age or family information? Thanks!

I am looking for any relatives of Kristine Salvesen, from Brooklyn, NY. She used to correspond with my grandfather in Loleta, CA. Kristine was born here, but my grandfather was born in Denmark (Karl William Nielsen). I believe her (Kristine's) father's name was Peter Nielsen. Was hoping to connect with someone related to Kristine and hopefully exchange information. Thank you.

Elizabeth - My grandfather, Anders Holbeck Salvesen, was born in either Mandal or Haddeland on December 28, 1879. His parents were Reinert and Berthe, and he hadsix siblings, two of whom were named Johanna and Anna.
He emigrated to the United States and married Helga Torkelsen in 1906. They lived first in the Bronx, then Yonkers, NY. Grandpa took Holbeck as his surname when he emigrated. I don't see your grandfather's name as one
of his siblings, but they are probably related anyway. Luckily, I drilled my aunts about our ancestors before they passed away, so I have some information about the family. Please feel free to contact me if I can be
of any help. Elaine Holbeck Giacomo.

He was my
uncle - oldest brother of my late father, Howard.
After Aunt Lucille died (a long time ago - I don't remember
when), Uncle Robert married Ethel Mae, who survives him.
Uncle Robert died last fall at age 86 - he and Ethel Mae
square danced until he was 85. He did live in Clinton
Corners, and his three children survive him - Linda, who
lives in Huntington, Long Island, Wayne, who I believe is
in Georgia, and Lois, who moved to Arizona. Please contact
me again if I can provide any more information.
