Flayed to Death

Kernes, Nevarro County, Texas, June 6 - John Samples, who has resided here for some time, while running home from Corsicana last night became entangled in his cart wheel and was beaten to death. Circumstances show that he had been dead about half an hour when found. He was still lying in the cart with his head between the wheel and the cart. He leaves a wife and seven small children, who were dependent upon his daily labor.
