Gladys was born August 9, 1913 to Martin and Bertha (Olson) Sampson in Powers Lake, North Dakota. She left this world and entered into a new life on May 7, 2005 in the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ.
Gladys lived her adolescent years in Ruthven graduating from Ruthven High School. She married Hike Gommels on October 30, 1933 in Emmetsburg, Iowa.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Hike; son-in-law, Dick White; five brothers; and four sisters.
She is survived by her five children, Don of Hastings, MN, Bob (Linda) of Gruver, IA, Judy White of Des Moines, IA, Jan (Dave) Erickson of Red Wing, MN, Rich (Molly) of Rochester, MN; twelve grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
