My Grandfather, the late Rev. Daniel Sanchez, of Santa Maria, California, was from Monte Escobedo as were his ancestors going back to at least the early 1800s. He left in the early 1900s as a young man. His father was Luis Sanchez Valenzuela and his grandfather was Jesus Sanchez Gamboa. His mother was Dolores (?) Jimenez, daughter of Felicitos Jimenez. I have more information I can share with you if you are still monitoring this Message Board. I would write more, but your message seems to be an old one and I want to be sure you are still there and interested.

David Sanchez

All I know is her name. She married [my great grandfather] Rodolph Audibert Delaroderie [de la Roderie] and live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (where I reside).
I am not sure why I have this in my mind but I seem to recall someone saying something about New Orleans when speaking about her.
Maybe we can help each other find these missing links!

Looking forward to hearing from you....

Hi, Marriana. I don't remember if I ever responded to you. Are you still doing research on your de la Torre and Sanchez ancestors in the Monte Escobedo area? My ancestors with those surnames are my grandfather, Daniel Sanchez Jimenez, his father Luis Sanchez Valenzuela, and his grandfather Jesus Sanchez Gamboa. My great grandmother was Rufina de la Torre, and her father was Benigno de la Torre. Have you seen any of those names in your research?

It would be helpful if you could provide more information such as a time frame.

The post most likely to get positive results is one where the users provides data on those ancestors he/she has information for and then asks specific questions on what kind of data he/she is missing.

Different time periods have different documentation available so unless you give us a time period there is no way to help you with acquiring documentation.

KENNETH LEE SANCHEZ 1932 - 1950 Korean MIA

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. His remains were never recovered. Our government has no family contact at this time for this soldier

Soldier: KENNETH LEE SANCHEZ
Born: 1932
Date of loss: July 27, 1950 NIA
Home of Record: Los Angeles, Calif

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (79years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
hgdavis@bellsouth.net
I have these names in my family tree. My father is from San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico; North East. I wrote most of these names down. I have it in my family history's book. One of my fathers who died along time ago wrote it. He wrote a few. I only have one. you and I could be in the same family tree. My last name is really suppose to be Coss. It really was Sanchez de cos.

In Santander Spain ther is a place called Coss, North Spain.
I was told it's by the border of France. From what I see it is very close to France. to make the story short I'm also looking for some of these last names. There also many more. My mother is Rodriguez. She is from the South West of Puerto Rico. Maybe down the line my parents are related. Who knows Puerto Rcio is small.

Some of my Father's Ancestors kept the last name Sanchez, cos, de Cos, De Coss, Or Coss, ect. I know about my Greatgrand father. I just need to find out where his parents were born and where his greatgrand parents came from. If you have any ???? Write me back soon !

Maribel De Jesus Jackson
New York
(914)328-6911
My family is also from Santander Spain. My great, great grandfather was an Isador Sanchez, born mid to late 1800's. One of his wives was an Antonia Montez. He had four children with her, one being my great grandfather Aquilino Sanchez who came to the United States, moved to California, his brother Antonio and two sisters remained in Spain. My great, great grandfather Isador Sanchez was a large man standing at 6’5, had about 22 different children with different women all over Europe, many in Ireland, so the story goes. My great grandfather had four childen, my grandfathers name was Joaquine Sanchez.

I am paul Galbraith, son of Rose Marie valdez. Rose is the step-daughter of Cornelia who was married to Daniel valdez, Rose's father. I recently saw the photos of Cornelia, her father, and the Valdez family you had posted on Ancestry.Com. Great pictures! I had not seen them before, and was so glad that someone, like you, was willing to share them. I had only seen one photo of Cornelia many years ago, but have no idea what ever happened to it. In my work on my family genealogy, I put in what information I had about Cornelia and her immediate family. But, I would love to have more. As well, I would greatly appreciate any other photos of My mother Rose and the Valdez family, if you have any. I would be most happy to pay for any copies. My family moved around so much we were not able to keep track of such valuable family information. Rose died in 1982. I live in Topeka ,Kansas. I am retired from my job with the state of Kansas. My six siblings live in Indiana California, and kansas. I would appreciate hearing from you.
Paul

Re: Sanchez Name History

Hi Leonel, my name is Rosalinda and I live in California USA, the reason for my writing you, is because I would like to know a little bit more about your family, because my mothers name was Ofelia Cabrera Sanchez. She passed away in May 21, 2007 almost 2 years now. The thing is that my family and I have never met my mothers family, but just 1 cousin named Margarita. My mom was from La Union de San Diego, Guanajuato, Mx. Is your family from Guanajuato? Please let me know what you can about your family hopefully we are related. Her parents were Canuto Sanchez and Ignacia Cabrera. Hope to hear from you. Thanks. God bless you!!

P.S. I believe our Sanchez last name comes from Spain...

Maridsa,
I read your message and notice that you are a Sanchez with a relative that married an Avila. Would that be a female named sanchez that married don Agustin DE Avila from Colotlan, Jalisco, which is not far from Monte Escobedo. My father, Juan Manuel Sanchez was from Monte escobedo and was the son of Guadalupe Sanchez and son of Don Agustin. I live in Riverside, California and visited El Monte in the 60's.
