To all of you who are decended from William Sanders who died in Pendleton District, SC around 1811 and are having trouble tracing the line beyond him, I have a bit of information that might be helpful. I met a lady today at work who is a former librarian and geneologist. I told her of our dilema and she asked about the migration pattern of our Sanders. SHe told me that settlers who migrated from NC to SC to Georgia to Al to MS often had arrived in NC on boats when they came to America. However, she stated that settlers who migrated from NC to SC to TN to AL to MS, often came from Pennsylvania. She also said that these people were often Methodist and that there were many Welsh settlers in PA. I know that several generations of my Sanders were Methodist and also the name Sion (found many times in my family line) is the Welsh form of John. She told me to definitely look in PA for our William Sanders and his family. I'm going to try this approach. Let me know if any of you find anything as well. Thanks.
