I have seen alot of information about Elias Sanders, he was born about 1775 in Maryland and died about 1865 in Hartwell, Hart County, Georgia, and is supposedly buried in Elias Sander Family Cemetery in Hartwell, Hart County, Georgia. Some of the information that I have seen is that he may or may not have been a Native American that was asopted by a Sanders family, but my question is, who were the Sanders that adopted him? Also I have seen that people that have said that Elias' parents were (Elias) John Sanders and Martha Bauer and then another person says that his parents were Unknown Sanders and Unknown Plumer. So with all of this information, it makes me wanna scratch my head and go bonkers.

Elias married Mary Carter, who was born about 1775 in Ninety-Six, Greenwood County, South Carolina and died about 1850 in Hartwell, Hart County, Georgia and is also buried in Elias Sanders Family Cemetery, Hartwell, Hart County, Georgia. Mary's parents were Thomas Carter [1750-1810] and Mary Elizabeth Chilton [1753-?].

Together Elias and Mary had a total of 11 children and they were:

1. Elias Plumer Sanders [1797-1885]
2. Mary Carter [1800-1872]
3. Thomas Carter [1807-1894]
4. Samuel B. Sanders [1808-1889]
5. Jonathan P. Sanders [1810-1886]
6. Calvin P. Sanders [1812-?]
7. Jane Sanders [1815-?]
8. Lewis Manley Sanders [1816-1892]
9. Rachel Sanders [1820-1856]
10. Patience Sanders [1818-1907]
11. James [1843-1928]

And it seems that three of the children married into my Vickery line...

So if anyone that happens to have a really good explanation to Elias' parents and or ancestors, I would really like to exchange information with you?

Thanks In Advance,
K. Chris Vickery
