Sanders from Minnesota and North Dakota

Hi,
I know this is a really long shot but I can't think of anything else to try at this point.
My great grandparents are Harry Parlin Sanders and Alnora (Myrl) Louise Young. Harry was born, 1888, in Appleton, MN and Myrl, 1889, in Stillwater (she was born Feis but adopted by Young's). Their first child was born in Sanborn, North Dakota in 1907. I was told Harry and Myrl were married in North Dakota (Harry worked for the railroad) but I have checked every location near where they lived in both ND and MN with no luck on finding their marriage record.

Has anyone researching the Sanders name come across the marriage record of these 2?

found Sanders headstone on farm in Nevada Co AR

There is a headstone on my father's farm in Nevada Co., AR. The headstone reads
J. Wessley Sanders
Co. A.
S. Ark. INF.
C.S.A.

There is a no birth or death date on this headstone. Next to his farm is a cemetery. Sad thing is I don't know the name of it. There is no sign anywhere. It's a very old cemetery, maybe has 24 graves in it. My father says years back some kids had moved some headstones around. I don't think he's actually buried on my father's property. The property was owned by my family back in the early 40's to mid 50's. My dad doesn't remember a headstone being there then. The family sold the property and he repurchased it this year. I'm not related to the Sanders family. I just thought if might help someone looking for him. I have a picture of the headstone if anyone is related to him.
Hi, don't think it was I who copied off your tree. However, my interest in Sanders is that my great Aunt Thomasina Sloan married a George Dana Sanders, my great aunt came from Ireland in1894 and married and remained in USA till her death. Any of this on your tree? There were 3 daughters from what I can find, Gertie, Bessie and Eva Augusta, also perhaps a son, William Reynolds Sanders with a wife Marion and daughter Jean. Good luck. Ruth

Hello all, I've been trying to locate information on a George Sanders and his family... born about 1823 in England, died in April of 1866 in Flushing, Michigan. According to the death certificate of his daughter, Minnie (Mary) Belle Sanders Post, he was married to an Ann (and I can't make out the maiden name), also from England. Ann and some of her children appear to have run a hotel according to the 1880 census in Flushing. The first few children were born in Canada, also according to the census.

Any additional info anyone may have would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for a half-brother I have never met. All I know is that his name is James Lee Sanders, and they called him Jimmy Lee when he was young. Father is Barry Sanders of Kentucky. I think he was born in Kentucky, but I do not know the year. It was earlier than 1979. When my mother was married to my father, in the late 70's, Jimmy was a kid, but I do not know how old.
I do not know James' mother's name, but it might be Ann. Our "father" was married multiple times. All I know is that it was a marriage before my mother's - if it was a marriage at all? I assumed that part.
This is a topic my "father" will not discuss.
I have a very small family and I hate that I have a half-brother somewhere out there, and I have no idea how to find him. He may be a great guy, or he may be sitting in a jail somewhere. Either way, I would like to know. He does not know I exist.

Thanks for this important information. It is a great help to me as Dudley, son of Moses, is my great grandfather on my fathers side, I believe. My father was Marsal JB Cooley and his mother was Susan Idonia Sanders m John Brantly Cooley. Susan's father was Dudley Sanders m Dion Walker ?. Believe Miss Choctaw or Cherokee in blood, but no real proof. Would appreciate sharing and communicating with you on jbsboy@bellsouth.net Jimmy Earl Cooley

jbsboy, I havn't gone thru the lines of cousins yet my direct line no, but, its funny you ask about louisiana. Bogue? Any Bouges in your Sanders line? And if so do you know anything about them being Muscogee? I have a lot of information on the men in that line, the woman is where the Muscogee come in. But I will poke around, do you have any dates for Dudley?

hello cousins,
We all have the same whirling questions in our head. I may not have proof by paper on any of us being Cherokee but, I can offer you some family fact. My grandfather was born in 1919 his name was Fred Willis Sanders, he spoke Cherokee, His Sister Sarah Ann McGalliard Sanders also spoke Cherokee she also traveled to Oklahoma in the 70's to PROVE you can be Cherokee without being on "GOVERMENT ROLLS"Their father was George Washington Sanders, he also spoke Cherokee (he married a very very Irish lady: hence my ginger appearance)His father was Francis Marion Sanders son to Alfred(Alford) Sanders, Alford was one of Elias JR sons born in 1830. I am the ONLY person in my family that does not have the "Native Look" my aunts sisters and mother all have black hair brown eyes tall and lean with pronounced noses. A DNA test isn't possible for now (cousins yet to be located), as there are no male sanders left in my area for this line.....very sad

I have been fascinated reading these posts. I am not sure where I fit into these lines but several posts REALLY rang out to me. My gg-gmother, Alma Sanders (married William Wampler)b 1878- 1949 in Texas) lived near and had MANY extended family members in and around the Upshur, TX area. (I still live only a couple hours drive from there) My dad grew up spending most of his time with the Sanders/Wamplers and has great memories. I also have several pictures of Alma and even one of her brother Vollie and if stereotypes hold ANY water at all (as far as looks go) they are CLEARLY NA... though we already knew that since she is descended from Theodocia Blake.
Someone mentioned a DRURY SANDERS. She had an grandfather named Drury (B 1795 in Alabama D 1878 in Marlin,Falls, TX) as well as named one of her sons DRURY (Wampler) I have many pics of this family as well as have my dad a few blocks away with tons of information ready to share. He did tell me that one of Alma's sisters, known to most as "Sis" was a well known "reader" and people would come from all over to get a reading from her (though most wouldnt ever dare admit it) and that the NA stuff regarding the family has always been assumed but never discussed. Other family members have told me that they have family reporting hearing relatives speaking in native tongue when they thought they were alone. (My dad is a Morris and same story from that side as well).
I can be reached any time at cnkrush@sbcglobal.net The attached pic is one I posted on Ancestry.com and own the original. It is of Alma Sanders with her grandson Dannie Morris in Vernon, TX

He was the son of Daniel Webster Sanders and the grandson of Joseph Sanders. All of them lived in and around Williamson County, Illinois.

as this was written 14 years ago I hope to have a response.
The great elusive Francis Marion Sanders b 1864 d 1962.
He has a very sketchy internet trail, being I can not afford travel,or pay to join certain sites, I have done massive patch work with this line. You Frances, are not in my direct line, but by finding this post I found even more information on FMS. Our story is the same. We would be half second cousins. As far as Ana Owl the bast I can do is offer you Lavonia(Livonia) Ann Massy(massey) She married Alfred(alford) James A Sanders , do I have proof of Livonia and Ana being the same person , No. I would love to hear from you or ANYONE with any information on this line. This line (elias plummer sanders)if you are looking for PLUME information checkout the tribes of PG county MD.....you might find what I found! Happy Hunting to all!

Information on Willie Sanders.

I am looking for information about my 2XGreat-Grandfather Willie Sanders from Jackson, Mississippi.

Only information that I know is he was born about 1891 in Mississippi (more than likely Jackson, Mississippi). He had my great-grandmother, Beatrice Rose Sanders (born March 16th,1918), with Rosie Sanders (maiden name unknwon. born about 1893).

The story goes when my great-grandmother was 2 years old he left the family and wasn't heard or seen from again. I was also able to find a 1920 census for him, with Beatrice and Rosie, but nothing before or after that. I don't know his parent's name or if he had any siblings, either.

If anyone has any information about Willie Sanders I would love to hear from you. My great-grandmother is alive, 95, and I feel it would be great news to give her and share with her.
