I am descended from an Eliza Jane Sandrock (1828-1888) who married John Grimshaw on Aug 17 1854 at Greenwich, according to our records. Probably not the same person but the dates are very similar. She was the daughter of John Henry Sandrock and Charlotte Spanton. and christened at Lambeth, Surrey on 5 Oct 1828.

I have not come across the name Hillman at all.

I will have to go back to some basic research I did over 30 years ago to see what else I can find. I do know the Sandrocks came from Germany.

Ehlert/Sandrock

The surnames Ehlert and Sandrock would suggest that you are from Wood County, Ohio. I would have to double check, but I think the Ehlerts came from the Essen Parish in Germany. Write directly to DickLila@aol.com.

The Martin Sandrock I have, my tips on this party were slim. He came from Burglard Almerodt, Germany, and died in Germany. He was a weaver. Children were: Anna Gelasina Sandrock, Abt. 1815 and Anne Elizabeth Sandrock, 1808 M: Johannes Lueckhard, October 29, 1834, Germany.
Anna Gelasina, is suppose to be my GGrandmother. She got pregnant by a married man, of which he wouldn't give the child a name. He took on the Sandrock name. That info I got out of the church records in 1989 in Landefeld, Germany. Stay in touch

Robby, what area of the US are you from. I just completed a book on the Sandrocks, also have history of some of the Sandrocks still living in and around Landefeld, and Spangenberg, Germany. My Great Grandfather was Bernhard Sandrock and Great Grandmother Anna Kathrina Lueckhard. I have gone back to around 1752. I was in Germany in 1989 for 3 weeks and did some searching, and met some lovely people of the Sandrock family. Still haven't found out the direct link, but some day I will. I think I know, but don't have the true facts. The people still living in Landefeld are Justus Christa Sandrock, in Spangenberg, is Karl-Heinz Sandrock. Harold Sandrock lives in Kassel, but he may be deceased by now. I have the Crest that I got out of Germany and the notibilty of the Sandrock's. I will gladly help you, and maybe we can work together and find the missing link in Germany. Sure would love that. My E_ mail is: jlduling@aol.com. My phone is 319-436-2638
in Iowa, near Cedar Rapids. Sincerely LaVonne Duling
