My ggGrandfather is/was Joseph SANDY, b. ca 1802 NC, d. 1871 Lawrence Co TN. Joseph's wife was Sarah LONG?, b. ca 1808 TN?. Joseph and Sarah SANDY's son, Andrew Jackson Monroe (used name Monroe) SANDY, was my gGrandfather, b. ca 1842 TN, d. 12 Feb 1902, Lawrence Co TN. Monroe married Matilda (Tildy) WILLIAMS 18 Jan 1872 Lawrence Co TN (his first marriage was to Margaret A. JOHNSON, b. ca 1841, d. ca 1872 TN). Monroe and Tilda SANDY were the parents of my paternal grandfather, James Lenard (sp?) SANDY, b. Mar 1875 d. ca 1942 Franklin Co AL. James m. Myrtle/Mrytle Lou JOHNSON, b. ca 1875-1885, d. 1964 Franklin Co AL. James and Myrtle SANDY were m. 14 Oct 1900 Lawrenceburg TN.
It is thought that the parents of Joseph SANDY were Thomas SANDY, b. ca 1775-1778 NC, and Margaret (Margot) WILLIAMS SANDY, b. NC. This has not been documented that I know about.
