Born in Wausau, WI on Aug. 31, 1923
Departed on Aug. 4, 2006 and resided in Wausau, WI.

Elmer L. Sann

82, Wausau, died Friday August 4, 2006 at North Central Health Care Facilities.

He was born August 31, 1923, in Wausau, son of the late Roy and Myrtle (Zweck) Sann. On July 5, 1947, he married Eidabelle Olson at First Presbyterian Church, Wausau. They recently celebrated 59 years of marriage.

He served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy and was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Burns Post No. 388, Wausau.

Elmer was a machine operator at the former D.J. Murray prior to his retirement. Among his favorite things to do were bow and rifle hunting as well as spending time at the campground in Tomahawk.

Survivors include his wife, Eidabelle Sann, Wausau, his children, Patricia (Art) Bostwick, Mattoon, Dale (Karen) Sann, Schofield, Jennifer (Jeff) Anklam, Wausau, Kenneth Sann, Green Bay, Heidi (Randy) Jari, Rothschild, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one step granddaughter, three step great grandchildren, a sister, Phyllis Sann and a brother-in-law, Stanley Chack.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Elsie Chack and a step grandson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 8, 2006 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, where full military honors will be conducted by members of the VFW. Friends may call on Monday from 4 – 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of services all at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of North Central Health Care Facilities for the excellent care given to Elmer.
