I am trying to locate some records on a family that emigrated to Indiana in the 1840s. The Sargent name is spelled every way possible in census, obituaries, gravestones. I would love to hear from anyone who has heard of this line or can point me in a direction to look for more info. It is possible they came from Canterbury or Ramsgate.

James Sargent b. abt 1777
Ann (wife) b. abt 1784
These two were supposedly the parents of 16 children. I have found a passenger list with them and 3 children below arriving in 1841.

Frances b. abt 1824
James b. 27 Sep 1827
Charlotte b. abt 1829

Other Sargents that appeared in Fort Wayne in 1840s and may be children as well.
