Vertis Cheek, age 67, of Vertis Lane, East Bernstadt, Kentucky,
died Thursday, September 9, 2004, at the St. Joseph Hospital in
Born May 20, 1937, in Laurel County, Kentucky,
he was a construction worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
Sarah (Sasser) Cheek and James Cheek;
and a sister, Pansy Tuttle.
Survivors include two sons, Vertis Edward Cheek of California and
Shannon Cheek of East Bernstadt, Kentucky;
two daughters, Janet Cheek of Richmond, Virginia, and
Donna Cheek of California;
three grandchildren, Nathan Cheek, Leslie Cheek and
Sydney Cheek, all of East Bernstadt, Kentucky;
a sister, Dorothy Hyden of Louisville, Kentucky; and
a brother, Curtis Cheek of Williamsburg, Kentucky.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 12,
at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel
with Larry Robinson and John Tuttle officiating.
