Hi I'm from the uk and have the Satchells your looking for in my Wakefield family tree. My great,great Aunt Laura Wakefield's daughter married a Raymond Charles Satchell. His father was John Charles Satchell & his parents were Samuel Satchell & Elizabeth Huisser. His father Joseph Satchell & mother Lucy Gurney emigrated to Ontario Canada from Warwickshire, England in 1880. I Have access to more info & photos etc if you want to get in touch.

Trying to trace relatives of Julia Ann Satchell, daughter of Emanuel Satchell and Maria Payne. Julia married Thomas H.Gillespie, and their son Thomas founded Edinburgh Zoo in 1913. Unfortunately Thomas Jnr, nor his siblings did not have any children The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland are trying to trace living relatives in time for their centenary celebrations. my niece has the satchell family history....James (b) 1798 (m) elizabeth rugby..they had Samuel (b) 1805 married Sarah Bradshaw.they had Joseph (b) 1828.....Samuel who was born in 1805 was convicted of theft and sent to tazmania and died there at the age of 79 check records....Sarah then lived c/l with a chap who was a Hatter from Ireland and they had a daughter Sarah check out the 1851 census

Son of Joseph Satchell 26 March 1828 - 21 June 1905 and Lucy Guerney born 12 June 1830 Norhtamtonshire England
died 28Mar1903
buried Avondale cemetery Stratford Ontario Canada

Joseph and Lucy came to Canada no year, settled in Brownsville Ontario. I'm related to the oldest don Thomas
His siblings are as follows
Thomas 1854 - 1895
Sarah 1861 - 1929
George 1858
Ellen
Joseph
Samuel 1869 - 1956
Harriet 1976
Charles 1872 - 1929

I am also researching Satchells from Rugby and Birmingham and have been for some 18 years. My link is to John/George Satchells born Born 1849 & 1792. Builders bricklayers, labourers first in Rugby and then they moved to Aston, Birmingham. I think I have information on those you mention in your post, would you be interested? Please except my apology but I seem to have recived your messages in reverse order.
And yes I have been in contact with Ann Boho, she has been a great help, and we have been sharing quite a bit of the information that we have found during our research.
I am very keen to be able to source any information that I add to my tree because I want to be as accurate as I can be so any help you can provide in this regard I would be most grateful.
And can I say that I am also interested in the lives that my ancestors lived, their employment, the places they lived, what their beliefs were?

Thank you for your reply, and thank you for correcting me regarding the information that I have in my tree, I wonder if I upgrade your role to "editor" would you be willing to correct my tree for me? and if I can reasure you that there is no doubt at least in my mind that Harry Castle was indeed the brother of Mabel, Sophie and Jane Castle, all the census and other documentory evidence that I have collected leave me in no doubt.

I need to make a correction to your tree My husband is the grandson of Mable Castle and I am not married to Lewis. Bill is a Kirkland.
I have no info on Harry so can not verify that he is the same Harry Castle. Eillen K

Grant , Yes I would like to see your tree. Then compare notes. You must have all the info on the Castles in England. I may be able to help add to you tree from this end. You did not say if you had contacted Ann Boho.
I do have birth and Marr. dates on a lot of the Castles in England thanks to Ann.
My husband William [ Bill] is the grandson of Mable & John[Jack]. I have names and dates for Jane Vowles children and Sophia Satchell.

My Great Grandfather Harry Castle was Brother to Sophie Castle (Satchell) & Mabel Castle (Kirkland or Kirtland) I know they both Emigrated to the USA and that they settled in Wayne County Detroit Michigan if you believe we have relatives in common I could invite you to view my tree and we could go from there.

I have info on George and Sophia Satchell when they lived in Detroit area. Also my husband's grand mother is the sister of Sophia. The Satchell's sponsored the Kirklands and the Vowles when they came to the U.S.

her name could have possibly been frances mary satchell.i have a copy of her sons birth and death certs and the names are different.one says shes called mary frances and the other says frances mary.if you cant find anything dont worry too much.thanks for all your help

William Henry Satchell Sr and Jr

Bill Satchell Jr is my father. Bill Sr is of course his dad, but dont have info about him or anyone before that. my father was born in Hallwood, Virginia 1908. as a young man he particapated in the Chincoteague pony round-ups. the family farmed in Hallwood. later moved to Pocomoke City, Maryland.

Have run across a letter dated in 1966 to my uncle from this woman Ethel Satchell and have seen a few mentions of her name on family charts, but no mention of her parents. She is a "branch" on my tree, and there are cousins out there doing research. Her grandfather is Fredrick Boody, but she does not mention her fathers name....anyone out there with information? Hi Rob, My Satchells were actually Satchwill/wells of KY, but my Grandparents generation changed it it to Satchell.

My Great Granparents were Frank Satchwell and Myrtle Jane Eckler Satchwell (2nd Farrington). They had two daughters Ollie Mae Satchell Welch and Mary Satchell (I think Verburg). Franks Parents were Joseph J. Satchwill and Mary Jane Wheeler Satchwill.

Jospeh's parents were William M. Satchwill and Margaret Knox Satchwill and then William's parents were Joseph Satchwill b. 1756 in NJ (later KY) and Eves Satchwill.

Have not been able to connect these Satchwills to any of the NJ Satchwills or any others.

My Ggrandfather was Frank Satchwell of KY/OH/IN area. He may have been from somewhere else but I think he was married to Marle in the KY/OH area. He married Marle or Myrtle Eckler. I don't have any other information on him, except they had two daughters Ollie Mae Welch 1905-1978 and Mary Verburg.

Myrtle 1889-1961. Frank was her first husband and she married an Elmer Farrington later.

If you have any information on Frank, Please let me know.

James & Martha Satchell & the FIRST wife

I am researching James H. Satchell from England. He was born around 1814 and was a taylor. He settled in Michigan where his son Charles was born in 1855. James married Maria Wilcox (b. Greece - d. 3/1/1884 St. Louis, MO) on June 18, 1859 at the Old Mariner's Church in Detroit.

We are guessing that there is another wife (Charles's mother) before Maria, but we haven't been able to find out anything about her. I strongly believe there is a link somewhere in West Virginia. James requests for Maria's obituary to be reprinted in WV.

I would appreciate ANY help in this matter. James has been a problem for me for TOO long!
