I am having a tough time finding information re: August Satter (b:10/17/1852 and had sons Albert, Alfred and dtr Amy), who is originally from Sweden and immigrated to US (approx 1881) and lived in Minnesota. I have found him in the census records, but would like to be able to trace roots farther back and am hitting a wall. I cannot determine if he changed his name after coming to US. Have found variations of name in US documentation. Any information would be appreciated. I am a newby at this stuff, and find its addicting, but frustrating! :)
