to every saul that reads this message, I have a family tree that dates back to one of the first saul to miggrate to va in I believe 1762, his name was thomas saul , My fathers research has got names from the us all th eway to zurich germany . the family creastand coat of arms has also been found and we replicas of the original. 9 out of 10 people that are with the last name saul are relatives, I can guarentee that. Hello,

We are also trying to find out information about Solomon Saul. It is our understanding that, for whatever reason, he was originally called Saul Solomon, but changed it to Soloman Saul as an adult. His father is called David Solomon of Lincolnshire but we do not have any further information about him.

As further information, Solomon Saul was married to Charlotte Halliday (my ancester) who then died and he later married Ann Croft with whom he had Frederick, Lydia and Sarah.

Hi Susan,

SOunds like then we are related, which branch are you? I am from his grandaughter Elizabeth, married to William (Bill) Shirley.

As I said in my last e mail, if this is the same Philip, he deserted his wife and sons, worked his passage over to NZ and re married over there and had a dynasty which was apparently well known. When you are sure that we are connected I am happy to send you what I have and photos of my great grandfather Philip (one of his sons) and the photos that I have recieved from NZ.

Hi Susan,

Looks like we may have alink, I have discovered that my GG Grandfather Philip actually deserted his wife and worked his passage to NZ where he married again and had 11 children.

His wifes name was Harriete Norris and they had 3 boys Philip, my g grandfather, Albert and William,

Does any of this match with your family?

I don't have any information on this particular Saul but I'm, wondering if you have any information on a the Saul family living at Wrangle Hall near Boston, Lincolnshire in the 1870s. The head of the family was George, and his children were George, Arthus and Louisa. Thomas married Charlotte took over the farmn when George died.

I'm also wondering if you know of any connection between the Sauls and the Needhams. Sarah Ann Needham was a servant at Wrangle Hall in the 1871 Census when George was the head of the family there. I'm trying to find out whether she was still there in 1875. She was my great-great grandmother.

the Hawkes came into my family when my g great aunt, Ellen Pavis Wraight(born in england about 1850) married John Hawkes about 1880. they had two sons that I know of. Arthur and Albert.I have them in a census of 1880 living in New Haven Connecticut.
I have found an Albert and wife Helen. Age is correct and he was born in New Haven. He was a Congregational minister. Ellen was said to have gone on to Australia. We have found her and her son arthur there. No idea if it really is her but age of both fits. What a puzzle this all is! Thanks, Joan

I am looking for information regarding Lucy Ann Saul, born 1836 in Ohio and died in 1926 in Henry County, Ohio. She married Aaron Fawley (1839-1860). After his death she married Thomas Singer, whom she also outlived. I believe her to be the daughter of Samuel Saul (1801-1890), who is the son of Leonhard Saul (1776-1827). I saw that there were some posts concerning Samuel and his father Leonard, and I would like to verify that Lucy Ann is in fact a part of this lineage. I am seeking any information pertaining to this family that may be helpful in my search and verification process.

My G Grandfather Philip Saul is supposed to have left his wife here in England and emograted to USA around early 1880's, he left over here three children and a wife, but I don't know where he ended up or even if he had another 'wife' when he left by ship or when he got over to USA,

Any information would be helpful
