So it appears brothers married sisters. R. W. Saunders according to marriage license was widowed when he married Martha at age 49 and she was 45. In the 1900 Census she at age 50 is shown living with her sister Ann and husband, William. In 1900 he applied for at age 60 his war pension. The 1910 Census shows R W Saunders age 72 as an inmate at the Richmond Clay Ward, Richmond, Va.
The 1880 Census shows R. W. married to Eliza E. Saunders with children.
Years and dob's appear to work for RW but can't figure out why he ended up in prison. What do you think?
