I could not see an Ada Brake or Drake at all and as this was at the right time and place it seemed right.

They are buried in the 200 year old family grave in drumaroad, the last of the Savage family land prior to the penal laws against the gaelic families.

There were farmers, my great great grandfather bought a 20 acre farm and my uncle owns it or has inherited.

There are 14 brothers and sisters in my fathers family, so yes cousins 8 times removed amount to 100 people.

Gerard gerrysav86@hotmail.com

Ballynahinch, co Down Ireland

Prove your Savage research is correct

DNA really is the final word on whether 2 people are related or not, and whether paper research is correct or not. You would get a copy of your father's birth certificate so why wouldn't you get DNA tested? They are all just pieces of your puzzle. Family Tree DNA and Ancestry have great sales on at the moment and prices have never been cheaper, around 50% off, so why not take a look? You may just find some new connections or break down that brick wall. Unless you are afraid? Try

https://www.familytreedna.com/order-form.aspx?ty=1104&Gr...=

For Family Tree DNA or

http://dna.ancestry.com/buyKitGoals.aspx

for Ancestry.
I have the books on Montbronn, Bining and Rohbach-les-Bitche. There are a lot of Fabings in these books. My Anne Marie Greiner was married to Jean Fabing in 1824 in Hottviller, France. Her parents were Christian Greiner and Catherine Muller. His parents were Christian Greiner and Marie Anne Fath. His parents were Jean Pierre Greiner and Christine Schneider and so on. I have my family back to 1240 coming out of Grein, Austria. They were famous glass makers. If you need any info on the Fabing family of Alsace-Lorraine area I will be glad to send you the info.

Larry Greiner

Savage Family in Washington Co. N.Y. area around 1800

I'm trying to find the mother of my ggg grandmother Laura Harvey Hastings born 1811. Her birthplace varies from Vermont to Washington Co. N.Y. I have found 1 sister Cornelia born 1816 in Washington Co. Their father was Isaac Harvey who married at least 3 times from what I can find. One wife was Sarah Savage who is Cornelia's mother. It's likely she is Laura's mother also. Sarah Savage Harvey died in Aug. of 1836 in Herkimer Co. N.Y. I have no info beyond her date of death. It's likely she was born the mid to late 1780's.
