Hey I have being doing allot of research myself on this last name. I have been finding that its from all over the world, one place forsure is "Austria", polland, China, India, Africa, and in the Middle EastA. I also found that it may come from Sawatski, Sauve, and other variation. I also found out that one of my Grand Fathers died in 1906 in Saskatchewan Canada.

Where they Catholic? I have had a lot of luck with the church records. You probably already know this but If they were married in the US in the Catholic Church there should be a record of it. I've found parents names as well as the godparents names. The Godparents were almost always relative. My Mary Hadala had a daughter Aniela or something close to that. American they called her Angeline. I also just was told by one of my distant cousins that the death/burial records sometimes have the city of birth on them. I've never looked at those. I'd love to look at any of the Hadala documents you have or come across. I'd be happy to share mine with you as well. My email address is berendes1@charter.net if you care to communicate directly. I have my items scanned and could email them to you.

Thanks,

Brenda

My Hadala came in 1906 and lived in Yonkers, NY. I am having the hardest time with Polish records getting me very far. I found Aniela (not Daniela) as I had originally thought on ellis island logs and knew it was the correct one because she listed Pierz ( my name) as who she was going to live with. I am going to order her husbands naturaliztion records and pray there is more info on that. Keep you posted!

I'm not sure if they are of the same family but I don't think it can hurt for us to communicate. My Hadala's came to the US in the late 1800's. I know they lived in Delaware then Missouri and one went to Indiana and ended up in Ohio. What part of the country were you Hadala's located? Were they Catholic? If you have a city of marriage perhaps we can find out more information on the marriage license and church records.

Brenda

I have photos too. Marianna married Wladislaus (Walter) Szyniaka (also spelled Sinaka). After Walter died Marianna married John Wollenberg. Anna Hadala married Alphonz Dembski.

SAWAYA / SAWA / SAWAVA / SAWADOVSKY
The original surname is SAWAYA from UKRAIN. I paid money to get these data, it was a long research. I'm from Lebanon and I live in Italy, I was surprised to find out that the Sawaya surname has origins in Ukrain. I was convinced that Sawaya had origins in Italy from Savoia. OK cousins, keep in touch and let me know if you collect any new info.
You can send me e-mails if you want and i'd be glad to make friendship with MEGA-distant cousins.
Ciao
