I am trying to trace my Great Grandfathers side of the tree. His name was Joseph Sayce born in 1863 in Ludlow he married Mary Brown and went on to live in Commonside, Pensnett, Staffordshire and died in 1935. The story goes that Joseph along with his sister Mary Maria Sayce was taken by their father to live with their aunts and uncles in Pensnett (Thomas Hunt and Mary Ann Marston) and (Hamblet Broom and Elizabeth Marston) when he returned to Ludlow he entered the workhouse. I also know that their fathers name was Joseph Sayce who married Hannah Marston (1833) in 1858 in Ludlow. The 1881 census shows a Joseph Sayce in the Ludlow Union Workhouse where he is listed as a widow. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
