SAYER family

George SAYER (b. Norwich) married Eliza Ann FREESTONE (b.Framlingham) Q4 1876 in St. Geo Han Sq. London. I am trying to trace their daughter b.1889 Elizabeth Eleanor; she seems to change her name at various times:Ella Elizabeth/Eliza Ella and variations. I believe the 1911 census shows her in service with the HENRY family in Muswell Hill, Hornsey. I can see three possible marriages: SAYER/HAMMOND Q4 1914 Norwich; SAYER/HEARD Q3 191 Gravesend, Kent; and SAYER/BAKER Q2 1920 Medway. If anyone has any information which would enable me to narrow the choice I would be very grateful. Many thanks, annfor1

I am still searching for Lionel Percy Robson Sayer I believe he might have fled the country as i cannot find him in the death records for England
This is what I know about him:
Born in 1893 Wales ( I have the birth certificate)
Joined the army... Suffolk regiment
Married in Ireland in the 1920's to Margaret Gibson moved to Scotland had two children
Then deserted the army and his wife /children
Think he might have become a seaman as I found a Leonard Sawyer his birth place and year is the same
In 1930 he married again in Scotland ( there was no divorce from the first wife at this time )
Believe his second wife Nancy Gibb might have found out about the first marriage or he left her also as she died in 1945 married to someone else
From 1933 we have not idea where he disappeared to
Would some one be able to see if he appears on any passenger lists in or out of England
Really appreciated all the help I have had to get this far any further assistance appreciated

Karen
Can anyone help please....My grandad Sidney Sayer died in 1997 and didn't really talk about his family, the only details I knew were his place and date of birth (Norfolk 1922), I have since managed to find out his fathers name Alma Sayer and he to was born in Norfolk in 1889, he was married to Alice Brennand in 1914 but i can't find him in the census records. I also know that Alma's father was called Robert Sayer born approx 1850 and he married Sarah Elizabeth Wade (also born in 1850). I am really puzzled as to why Alma is not showing on the 1890 or 1901 census. Please please can someone help me, i have ground to a halt and am not sure how to proceed.

Nationality - Welsh, age 39.

Among other ships that he sailed upon where: SS Cameronia and the Assyria.

There are some later records that could be him, but the surname is spelled differently.

I have no connection to the Sayers family.

The info I have came from the New York Passenger Lists 1820 - 1957. On 11 occassions between 1924 - 1932, a sailor by the name of Leonard Sayers (born abt 1893) arrived aboard one of three ships - SS Cameronia the Assyria or the Sir James Bell most from Glasgow, but the Sir James Bell from Cuba twice & once from Turkey. The manifest states that this person had between 6 & 10 years as a sailor.

All ships came into New York except the one originating in Turkey. It came into Bridgeport, Connecticut. Info on that came from the Atlantic Ports Passenger List 1893 - 1959.

There is one entry for Leonard Percy Sayers age 39 arriving on the Port Napier on 17 Feb 1930 from Swansea, a sailor with 6 years at sea.

Hi Gloria, I am also interested in this family. My G-G-G-Grandfather Joseph Boissoneau was married Oct.11,1844 to a woman named Nancy (sometimes referred to as Annecy / Anne) Mesquabanokwe at Sault Ste Marie. Joseph and Nancy had 3 children, Leon, Lucy and Marie. Prior to this union Joseph was married to a Marguritte Guillmond. Six children, all boys came from this union. Three of these boys married members of Chief Shingualk's ( Pine ) tribe at Garden River, and thuss became members themselves and their families. The 3 children from the second marriage to Nancy, Leon, Lucy and Mary all became mebers at birth to Chief Nebenagooching's ( Sayer's ) tribe, at the Soo. I have been told that this was because Nancy was a relative of Chief Sayer, possibly a sister?? Could the family you are looking for have had a child named Nancy Mesquabanokwe?? Hope to hear from you.
Thanks. Dave Boissineau
