Hi Lee Anne,, Thanks for your reply, that's very kind! No, I don't really have much to go on... only his first name. He was posted to UK in the forties, I think to an air field in Shropshire, and must have met my mother in '43? She says he was very handsome so I take this to mean he was young! and when I looked at the list of US military entistments for that period, I think this narrows it down by dates of birth? I will go and see her again soon; I was adopted so only just getting to know her, sadly very late.
