I think we are researching the same families. I have a William Mason Scaggs b. Blaine, Lawrence County KY March 20, 1829, d. November 30, 1905. m. Adaline Ferguson, b. August 17, 1828, d. January 23, 1908. They had 3 children, John, b. September 02, 1853; Lindsy, b. February 15, 1856; Harry (my grandfather), b. January 07, 1859. All but Lindsy were buried in the family cemetery on Patrick Creek in Wayne County WV. Could John Scaggs b. 1808 be John Patrick Scaggs b. abt 1797 to Peter & Martha Scaggs
