It is not proven but we think that the W. stands for Wesley, as you probably know that name has been pasted down.

Thank you for your reply. My email address is skpsmyrna@aol.com. I would like more info when you have time. I only had 4 children listed. Mildred Geren Youngblood was my great grandmother. She married Jacob Youngblood. Birthdates, death dates, & spouses would be helpful if you have them. I have a small amount of info. Elizabeth is buried at Gilgal Baptist Church outside of Minden, LA, but I have not been able to find Abram's grave. There is a large piece of petrified wood next to Elizabeth's grave in line with her headstone. I'm wondering if he's buried there. The cemetery doesn't have any of the old records.

My information came from the book "THROUGH THE YEARS" A STUDY OF THE GERON, GEREN, GARREN FAMILIES by Mary Bivins Geron Countess and Jac E. Countess. I found this book at the LDS Library in Salt Lake City. Am typing a copy of the information on Abram & Elizabeth and will be sending it to you by e-mail.

Ardyce

Scallorn/Hanegan

I am trying to find out more information about my paternal grandfather Robert Lee Scallorn who was married to Catherine (Katie) Hanegan. Both were born in Fayette County, Texas. He was born approx. 1890 and died approx. 1938. My grandfather is buried in Katy, Texas and his headstone reads Robert E. Lee Scallorn so the discrepancy between the names is making my research a little more difficult. I am especially interested in finding out the names of HIS parents. If anyone might also have some information regarding my grandmother, that would also be greatly appreciated. She was born approx. 1896 and died approx. 1969.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Paul, I have a number of Scallorns of the names you mention. However, I can't tie them to the dates that you give. Always happy to share and exchange information. Could you give a little more information. For example, what location? There were Scallorns in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas during the time frame you mention. I also have a Mary Ellen Scallorn who first married a Kidd and then G. W. Scallorn in Texas. Could this possibly be the family you are seeking? Will be happy to help you if I can. Please contact me. Thanks.
