Still looking for anyone with LUKE SCANLAN (Scanlon/Shallon) in their family tree. He was born in Ireland (possibly county Cork) c. 1800-1810, he emigrated to USA sometime before 1836. For a couple of years he resided in Will Co., Illinois and was an original land patent holder for property in Oak Creek, Milwaukee Co., Wisconsin. He died about 1841, either shortly before or after the family relocated to their land in Wisconsin.
He married ANN (or Aufena?) FINAN, sometime before 1836, possibly in Illinois. Their 1st child was born in Illinois in 1836. They had 4 children; Catherine, Jane, Ellen and LUKE.
Ann Finan-Scanlan was born c. 1812 in County Sligo, Ireland. She emigrated to USA with at least 4 brothers. She remarried, after Luke's death, sometime before 1850 to Patrick Brady, in Oak Creek, Milwaukee Co., Wisconsin, and died in 1866 in Oak Creek.
Anyone with info on LUKE SCANLAN or his ancestry, please reply.
