This person is a mystery to me. I find him to be living in Leitersburg,Washington County, MD. He married Susan Hartle also from this county. I can't find any other Scarberry's from Maryland. Does anyone have a missing Abraham ? He was born about 1780 and married 1811. I'm thinking he may be from West Virginia.

From what I was told Elizabeth may have been involved with a man named Dan Brown. They did not marry. But they had a child together named Rosie Scarberry born 1904 in Kentucky.

Does anyone have any information on the Scarberry family from Lawrence County Kentucky? My gggrandfather was from Lawrence County. His name was William Charley Charles, however I recently found some records that refer to him as a Scarberry, not a Charles. I also know that there are other member of the Charles family in this area that were also called Scarberry (such as Garfield Charles Scarberry). Does anyone have any information that could shed some light on this for me?

My grandfather is Roy Canise Scarberry, his parents are Thomas and Elizabeth Scarberry(Harbour, Harbor?). He had two brothers: Ernest and Tommy, and four sisters: Rosie, Lavita(spelling?), Mary Fetty and Sylvia Kingery. He married Izora Marjorie Adams on October 29, 1948.

I am also wanting information on my grandmother's family. Izora Majorie Adams, she is the daughter of Elijah and Isadore Viginia Adams (Shaffer, Schafer?) She has many brothers and sisters...I know that some of the brothers are: Moses, Marce, Jean, Howard, and James Adams. The sister are Mable, Magaline, Elsie, and Belinda (Belindy?).

Levi Henry Thomas (b.1870-d.1935) was married first to Clara Bell Scarberry, then possibly another marriage. He had a brother who was a judge in Charleston, Kanawha County, WV. They would have married in the 1890's.

Clara Bell Scarberry (b.1870's?) was married first to Levi Henry Thomas, then possibly to Mark Marrs (prounced Myers?).

These would be my great-grandparents. I have no information going backwards from them.

They had at least one daughter, Eva Mae Thomas (b.1899 d1972). Eva Mae Thomas was married 3 times, first to Edward Osborne Ferguson (m.1918?), then to Knight Wolfe (m.1939-1940?), then to Slim Mays. Eva Mae Thomas and Edward Ferguson had 4 children, Beatrice Ruth Ferguson (who died about 16 years old), Ruby Mae Ferguson, Betty Lou, and Edward Lee (Bill).

They possibly had another daughter, Lou Thomas. Lou Thomas was married to Bund Lyons or Bund Walters. They had a son named Clarence (possibly living in Dayton, Ohio), and another son. They lived in Ripley WV area (Mud Sock, Mt. Alto) in the 1930's to 1950's, and Bund made violins.

Anybody ever heard of any of these people?

I am looking for any family of LLoyd Scarberry from Proctorville Ohio. He was my gg-uncle! He lived all over Lawrence Co. But, was born in Miller, Rome Co.
His father was Sylvia Scarberry and his mother was Rozella White. His parents were never married. His mother is buried in Miller Cem. beside LLoyd and his sister Maude Scarberry(She married a Holley Scarberry from a different clan)
LLOYD was never married that I know of but, lived with 2 women and had children to both. First he lived with a Nora(they called her Nori) Packs, Walters and had 3 children to him. Then, he lived with another woman they called her May but her name was Mayolla and she had children to him also.
I do not what children goes to what woman but, the names I remember are Faye, Ray, May, Danny, Dennis and Donald.
I know Faye was married to a Black at one time.

I am looking for information on Americus Scarberry. I have no information other then she was married to my GGrandfather William Russell and had a daughter Nellie on Dec. 21, 1908. At the time that my Grandmother was born they were living in Scioto County, Ohio. She eventually divorced William and remarried a Rowley and had more children. I don't know how many children she and William had.

My uncle and I have started digging back into building our family history, and we've noticed a mistake in the LDS records:

Henry Scarberry of Lawrence, KY, husband to Effie Lee Bevins (born 1900) - the surname is actually SCARBURY

According to our information, Henry's mother was Cherokee. Anyone researching the Cherokee ancestory of the Scarberries might try researching Scarbury too.

At the moment, we have very little information, but when we finish, we'll post the updated GED to LDS and the other sites. We would appreciate it if anyone who has info about Henry and Effie send it to me at deborah@techie.com.
