I am trying to confirm that William Perrien Scarborough's (WPS)daughter Mary is the same Mary that wed my William John Kersey (WJK) of Emanuel Cnty, GA. I have no wedding date.
Here is what I have:
1850 Laruens, GA census shows a 15yr Mary as daughter of Perrien.
1860 Laurens, GA there is Perrien (Pawen) but no Mary
1870 Laurens, GA there are SF Scarborough, Jas P Scarborough, and suddenly a 24 yr old Mary A. SF and Jas P age's match that of the Samuel F and James P on the previous 1860 census. But is what is listed as Mary A, really Nancy A from 1860?
Sounds like I am off track but I need to eliminate that 24 yr old Mary A in 1870.
"My" Mary who wed WJK is with WJK in 1860 in Appling, GA. She is there in 1870 in Charlton, GA. WJK dies sometime between 1870-1880 and Mary is on the 1880 Clay, FL census with her children. However, she is listed as "Polly" (a common nickname for Mary) and her age is off, but it's the same children and I've really crossed my t's and dotted my eyes on that part.
I've read the other threads on William Perrien Scarborough but nothing touches his daughter Mary, or all of his children.
In summary, can anyone who has done extensive research on him confirm that his daughter Mary is my Mary wed to William John Kersey. If so, might you have wedding date/place?
All the best,
