Roscoe Scarbro
STARKE-Roscoe Kenny Scarbro, 80, of Starke died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at
his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Springhill, W.Va., Mr. Scarbro moved to Beckley, W.Va. at an early age.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the maintenance
department at DuPont. He was a member of Starke Church of God.
Mr. Scarbro is survived by: three daughters, June Williams of Folkston, Ga.,
Maurice J. Williams and Janice A. Corbett, both of Starke; a brother, Froud
Cooper of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his wife Beulah "Boots" Scarbro and a son Ronald L. Jarvis.
Funeral services for Mr. Scarbro will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 5,
2003, at Starke Church of God with the Rev. David Pleasant officiating and the
Rev. Grady Noel and the Rev. Robert Johnson assisting with burial in Crosby Lake
Cemetery. Archie Tanner Funeral Home of Starke is in charge of arrangements.
Family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral
home.
