Schaaf, Mary Barber


Mary Barber Schaaf Mary Barber Schaaf, age 88, of Erie, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Saint Mary’s Home at Asbury Ridge. She was born October 10, 1919 in Erie, a daughter of the late George and Molly Cantwell Barber. Mary was graduated from the East High School Class of 1938 and attended (then) Edinboro State Teacher’s College. She was preceded in death by a son, Patrick, who died at birth;
her sisters, Roberta Mazur,
Josephine Barber,
Frances Barber;
and her brother, James Barber.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years,
Will J. Schaaf; a son, William J. Schaaf, and his wife Sylvia all of Erie;
two granddaughters, Erin Robertson, and her husband, Alex, of Louisville, Colorado and Molly Schaaf of Richmond, Virginia; and a great-grandson, Owen Robertson.
Friends may call at the Brugger Home for Funerals, 1595 West 38th at Greengarden Boulevard on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and may attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2801 West 6th Street. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
