The Schad's from the Lockport and Royalton, NY area are traced back to the early 1800's where I'm hitting stumbling blocks.

My research is solid to my Great-Great Grandparents:

Charles H. Schad 23 August 1845 - 19 July 1918 and
Huldah J. Middaugh November 1844 - 28 July 1918

Anyone out there connected to these two somehow? Thanks.
Rick

I have found some additional information on my Hildegard Schad--my great grandmother who married August Gartner.

I am attempting to compile the information on a web site that I am creating. Although this is a work in progress, I thought that I would include the address here so that any Schad researchers could check it out to see if if anything looks familiar. (Most of the information is about the Gartner's but the information that I have found on Hildegard Schad is also included there, along with some photos)

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gartner/index.htm

Schad Family in Louisville KY or So. Indiana

I'm trying to locate information on Francis Schad who was variously a saloonkeeper/proprietor of Woodland Garden beer garden. Related (?) to Joseph Shadd, my greatgrandfather, who was also a saloonkeeper and also one of the first bottling business in the Louisville area. Francis married Matilda Freking in March of 1857. Both Francis and Joseph worked together in the saloon business so I presume relationship. Any information related to these relatives would be appreciated. Thanks

Growing Up With Tulsa by Blanche Opal Kern Schad

I have just updated all the book pages for Growing Up With Tulsa by Blanche Opal Kern Schad and the new index is now located at:
http://freepages.books.rootsweb.com/~irishrose/tulsa/index.h...

This is the story of the Kern/Schad family and Opal and her older siblings growing up with Tulsa from territorial days to statehood and through 2 World Wars, etc. Opal's son Harry of Tulsa, OK gave me permission to transcribe and put his mother's book online. It is not available, except at the Tulsa library and by Opal's immediate family.

Opal's mother Emma Justine Harrison Kern was the youngest sister of my GG-grandfather Richard Elijah Harrison.

Please keep in mind that I do not have any information on
anyone in this book except for the ancestral Harrison lines, which I will gladly share with interested parties.
I hope that you will enjoy Opal's book.

--
Take care, Kathie Harrison
http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~irishrose/
Looking for information on the following Schad's. Gottlieb Schad (57 in 1880) wife Rosina Magdelina , Children of Gottlieb were: Charles Frederick Schad 23, Lena Schad 20, George Schad12, Lewis Schad 8. This is as listed on Indianapolis 1880 census. There were also other children listed names hard to read. There was a son 19 Allan or Allba? and a daughter 17 Emma or Errica? I assume there were other children as well that were living on thier own as Gottlieb was 34 when Charles Frederick was born. Also living next door there was a George Schad I assume of some relation. Gottlieb's family was in the US prior to the Civil War as Charles Frederick was born in Indiana 1857

Fredric (sp?) Schad

My great-great grandfather was Fredric Schad, who immigrated to Maryland/Ohio in the 1860's from Munich. He married Jeanette Schweikert and had twin daughters, one who died early and the other was Violet, my great-grandother. We believe that Fredric had a brother William, but are unsure if he immigrated at the same time. Can anyone help fill in the blanks? Thanks!

Brothers Frank Adolph Schad lived in Moletein (now Stary Maletin/Maletin, Cz Rep) in about 1850-1886. They came to the US at different times. Both settled in Cottonwood Co., MN. Frank married Theresa Montag (in Austria), and Adolph married Rosalia Nimmerfroh (in MN). Frank later married Fannie Fritsch/Fritsche/Fritscher. Any help?

I am searching for information regarding Michael and Barbara Schad. They had a daughter, Mary Schad who was born in Jersey City, New Jersey 1874. It appears they (Michael and Barbara) moved to Wabasha County, MN. Either Michael or Barbara would have died of Huntington's Disease.
