Do you know where your Schaeffer line is from? My great great grandmother Mary had a brother named Paul. They were from Ross COunty Ohio. She married Edison Edgington.

I am trying to find out any information on Xavier and Christina Schaeffer. I really do not know anything about them except they would have been in Ohio around the 1870's. Their Daughter Mary Canvas Schaeffer Edgington was my great great grandmother and I think they might have had a son named Paul. I think Xavier and Christina may have came from Germany

Just getting back to genealogy after a few years absence. My Joel is buried in the Savannah MO cemetary in Andrew Co., MO which is in NW Missouri. His daughter's marriage record says "married at residence of Joel Schaeffer" so no wife/mother listed. On his grave marker Lydia is referred to as his wife. On Mary Ann's death cert her birth place is listed as Indiana. This is all I have at the moment.

the schaeffer family all live in Loveland CO,most have passed away. Shirley Schaeffer stills lives in Loveland as do the Hayes I think the Lutz's have passe also one of the children. I know this may be old news but I just found this site. And put in Robert Schaeffer's name to bring up his obit. I dated his son Rick Schaeffer for 7 yrs in high school. but if you look up Shirley she is still around in Loveland CO.I dont know anything about cirus

Funny...I have a family history & NOBODY recorded the women's maiden names before 1800s. My Schaeffer history starts with brothers Johan Peter Schaeffer and Frederick Schaeffer coming to America in 1710 from Oberstein Duchy, Nassau,Siegen...living in NY til 1725 when they came to Tulpehocken. My family is buried in Berks County, almost exclusively until the 1900's. I checked your outline briefly, and will look for more hits later. Searching for either side of my family, as my Schaeffer married a Dischert (which is either spelled Disher, Discher, Dischert or any of those with an F, D, or B in front of it, not to mention Dietrich. I have been given the typed history and am searching from there. I feel your pain. Feel free to email me if you think we're related.

Jacob Schaeffer, George Adam's father Jacob (1825 to 1904), was a brother to my ggrandfather George B. Schaeffer (1830 to 1901). Their (your Jacob & my George B's) father was George Schaeffer (1791 - 1865). Their mother was Maria Batdorf (1799 to 1872). The elder George (1791 - 1865) owned several farms & properties near Stouchsburg & Rehrersburg, PA.

At this point, the trail becomes merky. It appears that George's (1791 - 1865) parents we're a Jacob & Christina Schaeffer. There were several Jacob Schaeffer's in the area at the time & that's where I've been blocked for over 10 years. I'd be interested in sharing detailed information with you.

In 1930 John D GILES is living with his grandparents, David Isaac & Anna Jane SCHAEFFER in Salisbury, Lancaster Co PA.

Their daughter, Anna Ethel SCHAEFFER (an only child), was his mother. She is more commonly mentioned as Ethel G SCHAEFFER by other researchers of this family but in the 1910 and 1920 census she is identified as Anna Ethel or Anna E.

Neither of John GILES's parents are in the household for the census. Are they dead? Who was John D GILES father?

I can only guess that this is nothing more than a close friend of the DEGELAU/MUELLER family. The names Mr. Hans Schult & Mrs. Hans Schult appear in both memorial books for Fred Degelau & Mary Degelau nee Mueller, listed as friends.

I have been searching my Schaeffer roots since 1968 - to say it has been difficult is putting it mildly. The various spellings of the surname do not make it easy to connect families.
For the sake of uniformity and sanity, the surname spelling will be Schaeffer - even if the research documents show another spelling.

Here is the research on the first 6 generations of the SCHAEFFER's that Joanne and I have put together. There has to be others searching this family who can connect to our lines.
Missing are the females - they aren't considered important enough to research but we feel they are important. If you have female Schaeffer, check out the list and see if you can place her into this family tree. OR if you have research to add to this family tree, please contact us.

The SCHAEFFER's begin in BERKS County and then the area becomes SCHUYLKILL County - they resided in such places as MIDDLEPORT, BLYTHE TOWNSHIP, TAMAQUA, BROCKTON, MAHANOY CITY, MAHANOY TOWNSHIP, GIRARDVILLE, ASHLAND AND CENTRALIA, which is in COLUMBIA County. According to census, in 1920 a Caroline Henkel was living on Larimer Ave n turtle Creek w 3 grown sons. Age is blurred, dates are misleading, but I think she may be our common g-g'mother

their from Va but we not sure where Homer was born
I know he had 2 wifes 1st we believed name "molly" who died by being hit by lighting while milking cow?
and 2nd wife Mary Ethel Stephens

I found out that they also had a Son Homer Jackson Schaeffer Jr that died at 3yrs old,
It believed that 1 or 2 genration above them came over from germany..
Also Homer had a 1st wife "Molly?" that had 11 kids with Homer Jackson Schaeffer before her death, seems she was struck by lighting while milking a cow..
Mary Elthel (Stephens)Was his 2nd wife not his 1st as was stated above post..

Miss Frances Raymond had talked about persecution

Miss Frances Raymond, an actress, committed suicide by inhaling gas yesterday in her home, a handsomely furnished five room flat at 129 West Ninetieth Street.

The clipping is on line and says her real name is Mrs. Schaeffer that her husband died 10 years ago. Her maiden name was Lapzine. Two sisters were mentioned N. Burdick and Louise Koch. both of Brooklyn.

I cannot find out anything in this marriage. Anyone have them? I am interested in learning more of Frances. Some said she was demented, for she claimed a Doctor named Max was trying to kill her, and he supposedly wrote her that it was his intention to murder her.

I cannot find Lapzine and am certain the name is not spelled correctly. Help me solve this mystery PLEASE.

I AM NOT RELATED but, am researching for a mystery novel.
Frances traveled with the Frohman Traveling Companies.

LOUIS L. SCHREMSER

Louis L. Schremser, 81, of Killdeer, died suddenly this morning at his
home. Medical Examiner Dr. Anthony Wojciechowski pronounced death due
to natural causes.

A resident of this community most of his life, he was the oldest
charter member of Emanuel Lutheran church and the first president of
the organization. He was a master mechanic before his retirement
twelve years ago, and was a member of the Men's Club of his church.

Surviving are his wife, Lena (Redlitz) Schremser; seven sons, Arthur,
Albert, Edmund, Harold Schremser, all of Oxford; George, Eugene and
Wesley Schremser, all of Webster; ten daughters, Mrs. Clara Boener and
Mrs. Dorothy Gallagher, of Pennsylvania; Mrs. Betha LaMountain of
California; Mrs. Martha Rogers of Bellingham; Mrs. Alice Brooks,
Mrs. Emily Gardner, Mrs. Olga Moritz, Mrs. Gertrude Bayer, Mrs. Helen
McGovern, and Mrs. Louise Matilla, all of Webster; 34 grandchildren
and 5 great-grandchildren.

Prayers will be said at the Scanlon Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon
at 2:30 p.m. with services in Emanuel Lutheran Church at 3, in charge
of Rev. Joshua Lindstrom. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.
