There is a book in the Library of Congress I have mentioned before called Schamp-Schomp and Lane Families written by William Smith in 1985. It has the families going back to Ghent, Flanders in 1590. You can request the Library of Congress to copy it for you and they will send you a copy. I don't remember the cost. It is on Microfilm 88/5973.
