I am looking for any information on Wilhelm "William" Scherer and his wife, Eliza (Sruith?). They were born or are from Baden, Germany and I believe they came to the US in 1887. They have two sons that I know of, Wilhelm "William" and Fred. William was born Oct 1865/66 in Baden, Germany. He lived in Genoa, Illinois most of his life as a shoe repairman. He married Julia Baumann in 1895, who was born in Jul 1874. They had three children, John, Emma "Emily," and Ida. Julia died while giving birth in Ida in Sep 1901. William, Julia, John, and Ida are all buried in Genoa Cemetery in Genoa, IL. However, for some reason, Julia is buried separate from the rest unmarked in another part of the cemetery. William's brother Fred was still living at the time of William's death in 1935 in Garden Prairie, IL. If you have any information on this Scherer family, please let me know. I will be willing to share anything I have on the family.
