I came across a book this summer titled "Malden Bridge: 2 Centuries" by Richard J. Dorsey. For anyone interested, the book details a farm and house that was originally owned by Jacob L. Schermerhorn. "Little is now known about Jacob other than he was an early settler of Dutch extraction..." He sold the farm in 1805 for $3,750. The "house has been a landmark on the s. side of the Kinderhook for.. 2 hundred years." The book has a map of the farmlands and a drawing of the house.
