Their parents names were Bernhard and Maria Anna Wilhelm Schindler. Theodor was born Feb 13 1857, Friedrich July 27 1858, Bernhard Jan 5, 1866, and Franz Josef in Feb 16, 1868.

Looking for information on Schindler family who emigrated to US in 1866 - to Rock Island, IL area. Father's name: Eduard.
Mother's name: Christina Merz
Children: Adelgunda, Richard, Julius, Gregor, August, Edward and Remig. Born from 1841 - 1860.

Richard moved to Kansas and is in the 1880 census. Remig married Malinda Lawson and then Louise Schenk (Iowa). Stayed in IL and Iowa area. Remig Schindler's children: Sarah, Mary, Malinda, Gertrude and Edward -- born from 1881 - 1895.

Have found records of family in Baden before emigration. Other family names in Baden are Merz, Bruder, Wolff and Krummer.

I am searching for any information on my little sister's dad's family. Unfortunately I have little to go on and don;t know where to start-although I have been researching other lines for yrs and yrs. all I know is her paternal grandmother's name was June ? b. 1929 and died in 2002.
She was married to Donald Schindler b. abt 1928 (still living but I have only meet him once) They had a son David (my sister's dad and he passed in 2006) They also had a dau, named Sue. I don't know anything else about the family. Can anyone help? I'm very sorry I can't offer much....

Looking for Anton Schindler information. Born 28 January, 1852 in "Hermetz" Austria. Have reason to believe this may have been a part of what used to be Czechoslovakia.

Immigrated to United States via Bremen. Arrived in ? in the US on 30 September, 1880.

Can anyone confirm where "Hermetz" or "Hermitz" was?

Any information on an Anton Schindler. He was married to Mary Manofsky, but we don't know if this was in Europe or the US.

Hoping for guidance. My great grandmother Matilda Schindler Storz was born on 24 Mar 1876. She emigrated to the United States from Villigen Germany about 1877. Her parents also relocated to the US. They were Englebert Schindler(B. 4 Mar 1836) and Anne Trichler/Trischler Schindler (B. 4 May 1843)

Englebert had a brother Charles who died in infancy in 1835 or 1836. Anne's father was Joseph with a birthdate of 7 Mar 1804 or a deathdate of 7 Mar unknown year. It has been suggested by family that Anne had sisters with the names of Bertha, Mary and Katherine. Katherine was James Cassell's 2nd wife.

I am searching for information on the Schindler Familie in Nebraska. They arrived in 1877 from Moravia/Mahren/Sudetenland - (village of Bergstadt - now called Horni Mesto in the Czech Republic. They settled in Ewing, Nebraska. They were accompanied by my great-grandmother Anna Rosa Thoendel/Thöndel in 1877. But I cannot find boat records for Schindler or Thöndel - she may have used her maiden name Heinz - ... Does anyone have such information?

Seeking ancestors: Barbara Schindler was born 11/4/1853 in Stemmenreuth, Bavaria Germany--her parents may have been Jacob Schindler and Helen Korzderfer, but I'm not sure. She emigrated to America in 1882, first going to Illinois then Kentucky where she apparently had relatives. She moved to Minnesota about 4 years later after her husband Lorenz Ziegler died; she married George Trautner in 1888 in Houston County MN. Barbara passed away August 16, 1929.

I am not researching this family and have no further information. I found this old death notice and decided to share with you for genealogy purposes.

Christian Schindler was born in France, May 13, 1833, and died in Adams County, Indiana, Monday after Dec 16, 1901 at the age of 68 years, 7 months and 3 days. He leaves a brother, Daniel near Hickory county, Mo, three half brothers and four half sisters, his wife and two sons and five daughters. Deceased lived in Adams County since 1853. Funeral services took place Thursday morning at the old Egly church in French township.

I would have posted where I got this information if only I knew where it came from.

I think that the wife of Henry Schindler was possibly Anna Warth, b.1814 Glarus, Switzerland - death date & place unknown, the daughter of Marcus and Elizabeth (Becker) Warth. In the 1850 Rahway, Essex, NJ census Henry Schindler is 36 b. Switz., a chair maker; Anna is 36 b. Switz.; and the children are Elizabeth, 14 b. NY; Ann, 9 b.NY; Emeline, 7 b.NY; Henry, 1 b.NJ. Anna is possibly the sister of my gr.gr.grandmother Catherine Warth Conover, b.1821 Glarus, Switz. - d.1905 Terre Haute, IN. Catherine and Anna had another sister in Rahway named Elizabeth Warth Baumgartner (b.1816 Switz. -d.1840 Rahway), wife of Lawrence Baumgartner. Two children of a man named Henry Schindler are buried with the Baumgartner family in the Rahway Public Cemetery. Also buried with the Baumgartner family are people named Teets, Prall and Harmer. Any information about these families would be greatly appreciated.

According to my records Ernst had 6 brothers, 2 died
at a young age. I do not know when he died, as he left
home and no one ever heard from him. My Uncle always
said that my GF Rupert had a brother by the name of Ernst. He must have been born 1820-1830 in that time.
I have no other records. He would have been one of the
12 children born to Franz and Katharina Schindler in
Herrnbaumgarten, Austria. The father was a schoemaker.

I am looking for any information on the origins or other family members of James S. Schindler(Shinley). A tombstone in The Massey Cemetery in Arkansas Co, Ar. is inscribed as follows: "CORPL. JA S. SCHINDLER CO. A. IMO. S. M. INF." I found no dates on the stone. A picture of a "James S. Shinley" is displayed at the Arkansas Post Museum below Gillette Ar. He is said to have been from White County and a Corporal in Medical Corp, 1st Ark-Regiment. Buried in Massey Cemetary.

In doing more research I found out that my great grandfather went by Fred Schindler. He came by ship from Germany in 1892. He and his wife worked their way over by scrubbing decks. Mr Deffes tried finding him under his given name with no success. If anyone comes across his name on a ship manifest please let me know. He was in the 1910 census for Missouri. Richard & Margretta were listed with four small children, Emma, Edward, Macalena & George. Also Edward Schindler, father of Richard, was with them.

I have a great deal of information on this civil war soldier. He was my husband's great grand mother's first husband and they had 4 children together - Wilhemina born in 1854, Conrad in 1857, Mary born in 1859, and John in 1861. The official records classifying this man as a "deserter" in 1862 have never been changed.even though I have documented proof that he was killed my Mosby's guerilla's in Virginia. I am trying to get that status changed and also trying to locate his decendents with further information. He was married to Barbara Trabet and they both emigrated from Germany. Barbara married my husbands great great father John Boulanger after the war but the surname was changed to Bollander due to a clerical error during the civil war. Obviously they had one child together but I think they had at least 2. Please get back to me if any of this rings a bell for you.

Looking for descendants of Eloise Dessaur Schindler. Eloise was the daughter of Mary Isabella Newell who died i 1900 during childbirth and Charles A Schindler who died in 1920.

Eloise had a younger brother (my dad) Charles Frederick Schindler who was born 4/jan/1898, and I think Eloise was born around 1896.

After Mary Isabella died, Charles A. married Mamie Berdine and they had one child together, Orel.

Just received new information as to my Remig Schindler (1860 - 1925). Originally married Malinda Lawson in 1880. After a divorce, he married Louise Wundt. Malinda married James Joseph Albery in 1903. (Child from this marriage was named James, born Rock Island, IL.) Schindler daughters married into Hardin and Seeburger families.

Remig was born in Germany & came to US in 1869. Brothers were Julius (who committed suicide), Gregor, August and Edward. Mother's name was listed as Christena, 55, from Saxony in the 1870 census. Father (supposedly) listed as George, aged 80. Would like to trace family roots back to Germany. Thanks for any information.
