I just found a John U Schirmer listed as serving in the Civil War in Company D Unit 98 of the Pennsylvania Infantry.
I was wondering if this could be my John Ulrich Schirmer. Under the notes part of the listing it showed Schirmer and Ulrich.
The John Ulrich Schirmer I am researching was married in Missouri to Anna Barbara Winkelmann in 1848. He died in 1880, in Sacramento County, CA.
If any one has information that would help I'd appreciated it. I have more information on his wife and children.
