Schirmers in St Michael MN

Does anyone know the exact birth location of Nicholas Schirmers (married to Anna Ehlenz). The family sheets say Baustert, Rhineland, Prussia, Germany. I have found the Ehlenz on the Baustert microfilm, but not the Schirmers. Anyone have the microfilm on the Schirmers?
I know that Theodor Schirmers (married first to Anna Maria (Theilen) Thullen and second to Maria (Margaret) Becker) is Nicholas's brother. They have the same parents listed on their church family sheet in MN.
Any other information would be appreciated.
I just found a John U Schirmer listed as serving in the Civil War in Company D Unit 98 of the Pennsylvania Infantry.

I was wondering if this could be my John Ulrich Schirmer. Under the notes part of the listing it showed Schirmer and Ulrich.

The John Ulrich Schirmer I am researching was married in Missouri to Anna Barbara Winkelmann in 1848. He died in 1880, in Sacramento County, CA.

If any one has information that would help I'd appreciated it. I have more information on his wife and children.

Dianna Parker

Schirmer family in Canada

Looking for any information concerning Schirmer in Canada. In particular any connection to a Anna Maria Schirmer who married Andre Hinsberger (Hinschberger) on 23 April 1850 in St. Agatha, Ontario, Canada. She is the daughter of Josef Schirmer and Maria Greising, formerly of Bavaria Germany.
Records at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, also list a Walburga Schirmer who married a Laurentio (Lawrence) "priests like to put it all in latin" Diebold and had a son named Joannis (John) on June 23 1867.

I hadn't realized that there were so many Schirmers in the USA, and it makes me wonder how many there are in Canada and if they are all related.

my E-Mail is kleser0937@home.com

Thanks, looking forward to communicating with anyone connected.

While doing some newspaper research for a client, I noticed an interesting item and jotted some of information down. This item appeared in the Pittsburgh, Pa., newspapers "Gazette", "Leader", and "Dispatch", 18 Nov. 1904. Being sought by a German attorney: Henrietta Ernestine nee Schirmer, born 1811, [the town in Germany was given but I didn't jot it down], married (1) Fried. Christ. Becker; immigrated 1847 from Pegau, Germany; m. (2) P. Hoffman; resides with daughter(?) Mrs. Mathilda Baetz of Allegheny City. (A later newspaper indicated that the woman had been found.)

Conrad would have been my maternal great-great-grandfather. he perhaps was born in Cook county, Illinois? He married Mary or Marie Meier (sp?) and had children named Frank, Clara, Henry, Carl, Ed, Alvira, Mamie, and Conrad (born 6 mos. after Corad, Sr. died.) Henry was born in Cook County, Illinois on October 16, 1889. He married Estella Ecklund in 1912. Their children were Harold, Raymond, Elenora, Chester, Loretta, and Sylvara(Sally). Raymond was born Nov. 16, 1915. He married Alice Worden Matthews Dec. 5, 1936. Raymond passed away on August 2, 1996. Alice is still living as of July 21, 2000. Their children are: Viola (my mother - born May 8, 1937), Harriet Palm born Nov. 25, 1940; Marlys born Aug. 5, 1944; Reynold born April 8, 1950; Bonnie born Feb. 24, 1957; Robert bron Jan. 31, 1960; and William born Jan. 4, 1962. If anyone can help me to find out where Conrad was indeed born (US or Germany?), what were the names of his parents? If he was born in Germany, when did they emigrate to the US? On what ship did they sail? When was he born? When did he die? What are the names of his siblings (if any)? and any further info anybody has about his siblings and descendants of siblings, etc. is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sherman/Schirmer family in Scranton, PA

I am seeking the ancestry of Fred and Sophie Sherman, who settled in Scranton around 1852. Evidence indicates they came over as Friedrich Schirmer (1824-1898) and Sophia Stein (1830-1905). Their death papers say that Fred came from Breitenburg, Saxe Wynon (the 1870 census says Saxe Weimar), while Sophia came from Gerstunger. 15 miles west of Eisenach in the Grand Duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach is the town of Gerstungen and close by are the villages of Hausbreitenbach and Fernbreitenbach. They had children Charles (1852-1906), George (1856-1886), Henry (1858-1909--no children), Elizabeth (1866-1924--marr. Andrew Lentz), and Fred (1869-1944--moved to Ariz.). Any assistance gratefully accepted.

I am looking for any info on a group of schirmers that came into NY (bound for Cincinitti ??) in 1854. The father was Heinrich (57) mother was Charlotte (57), with children Wilhelm (20), August (18), Fredrick (16), Ernest August (12), Heinrich (10) Herman (7)-All ages are as of 1854. It is my belief that August went to Balto Md married, and I am trying to locate where the rest of the schirmers went. Supposedly they were from Hanover Germany. Any help would be appreciated.
