Our family has been able to trace back to Bern, Switzerland for Jacob Schmaltz, Gottlieb (Levi) Schmaltz, Lena Stahl. Upon coming to the USA the family settled in Hughestown, PA, a coal mining community. Other family members were George Schmaltz, Ellsworth Schmaltz, Ronald Schmaltz.
