Louis Schmid of Hausin, Germany and Washington, DC
Have narrowed my search for Louis Schmid to birthplace of Hausin (Hausen?), Germany. Born January 4, 1824, came to US via New York approximately 1851, settled in Washington DC for many years, had a store with his sons - sold birds, floral supplies. Also had a paper box factory. Died March 23, 1892 in Washington DC. Can anyone help me pin down his city of birth? There are several towns named "Hausen" in Germany.
