I have previously sought assistance re the whereabouts of relatives/ancestors of the above two persons without any success.

Sophie Wilhemine Braul, born abt 1862 in Canton Berne, Switzerland (1901 UK census). Sophie married Christian Schmid (as per name on 1901 UK census), however married name was 'Schmidt'. Initially I was unsure of Sophie's maiden name and thought it was 'Brand', however it has been confirmed as "Braul". I am not sure whether Sophie has taken her mother's surname or the name of her 'lost' father.

Christian in the 1901 UK census is listed as beng born in Frutigen, Switzerland, born abt 1858. Their marriage records indicate that Christian was the son of Abraham Schmidt. Sophie's father however is indicated as being 'lost at sea'. There is no mention of the mother's names.

They were married in St. Pancras, London on December 8 1890. They had a daughter Sophie W, born about 1896 in Switzerland, a daughter Elizabeth Clara, born 1897 (in Chelsea, London; d 1994 Elizabeth Clare Pritchard) and another daughter, Rosina, born 1899 (Chelsea, London, d 1981, Melbourne, Australia), my grandmother.

Sophie Wilhemine Schmid died in 1930 in London. Christian (Schmidt) died in London in 1937.
