Trying to locate any information on the Schmitz family who came from the area of Cologne, Koln, Nordrhein-Westfalen which was part of Prussia at the time.

According to my great grandmothers death certificate, her father was Peter Schmitz and mother was Maria Agnes Zander, and she was born in Prussia 1-9-1850.

According to 2 US census' she immigrated in 1861 but have not found her immigrating in that year. So do not know if she came with both parents or just one.

She married John Knapp about 1867 in Wisconsin - believe to be in Milwaukee as I believe I found them in 1870 living in Wauwautosa, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Looking for place of birth, verification of date of birth, immigration, and verification of who and where her parents were from.

Very little information I know, but this is all I have after 4 years of searching.
