I'm researching Abraham SMUTZ b. 1818 in Fayette Co, PA. His great grandfather Abraham SCHMUTZ was born in Switzerland. Abraham b. 1818 m. Harriet Brewer in Van Buren Co, IA. Abraham's line: David SMUTZ and Mary Ann THOMAS, Abraham SMUTZ and Mary ROHRER, and Abraham SCHMUTZ and Barbara. The younger Abraham was in Polk Co, IA in 1870 and is supposed to have died in Arapahoe, NE in 1883. I haven't been able to find him in the 1880 census in any state. If anyone can connect to this family, I'd like to hear from you.
