Schneider / Werlla twins -- item of interest

Classification: Biography
Surnames: SCHNEIDER WERLLA Hintz Hurley Stafford Blair
I have an article from the Galveston Daily News, June 14, 1968 that I thought you (this board) may find of interest: "Twins to Have Joint Party For 91st Year".

The subjects of the article are Mrs Ann(t)a Hintz and Mrs. Ida Stafford (b. June 15, 1877), daughters of Karl Werlla of Germany (im. 1851 d. 1919) and Julia Schneider of Milheim (d. 1940). It is a rather long article with photograph. If anybody is interested, I will attach it later.

"In 1892 Anna and Ida were sent to Galveston to continue their education past the seventh grade, and lived with their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. William Schneider. They attended St. Joseph's Catholic School at 22nd Street and Avenue K, where they were confirmed. After school they spent many hours with their cousins, Will and Arthur Schneider, watching the building of Bishop's Palace...."

Other surnames mentioned in the article are listed above. Places: GERMANY; TX: Brazosport, Frelspurg, Eagle Lake, Galveston, Milheim, Altair, Woodsboro, La Marque ; and Charleston, WV.
