      <title>Schnettlers in Wisconsin</title>
      <link>http://boards.ancestry.com/surnames.schnettler/2/mb.ashx</link>
<description>My GGgrandmother was Elizabeth (aka Bertha) Schnettler Elias and in the 1860s/1870s resided in Manitowac County, Wisconsin. I am trying to find the connection between Johann Schnettler and Elizabeth Elias - I am thinking that they may be siblings. They had come from Michigan, very likely the Detroit area, settled for a while in Wisconsin, then the Elias' moved to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the Schnettlers stayed behind in Wisconsin. Any information on the Schnettler/Elias connection would be very helpful. The 1872 plat map of Liberty Township, Manitowac County, Wisconsin shows the Elias and Schnettler clans living within 1/2 mile or so of each other (info courtesy of the Rootsweb page connection of Manitowac County - hopefully this is a proper attribution).</description>
