This is our "brick wall", we've been looking for years with no results.

may be this man:
JAMES SCHOFIELD & CO of 45,High st
Occupation: Manufacturer of, or dealer in Flannel & Baize
Which is a *long* shot ... he was listed on his son's marriage certificates as occupation: calender & retired manufacturer.
Known children:
James (Jr.) bc 1815 Salford LANCs

Possible connection to KERSHAW. James Jr. named one of his sons John KERSHAW SCHOFIELD .. he also named a street KERSHAW Terrace. Family believes that maybe his mother was a KERSHAW.
